Both are ugly with all the text on them.

I understand the 'point' of them. They're essentially rolling advertisements more than anything else. But that doesn't make it attractive.

Again, remove any #'s and text that isn't Chevrolet, Camaro, RS, Z28 or SS and they'll look great. I like to read books (and comics) not cars. lol

I'm looking at them in a purely asthetic way, mind you.

I DO get it! I just don't like all the decals on either the 1st or 4th gen...
I agree, as a showcar...okay...but as a car overall...I really don't think all those decals do either one justice.

What about the Pace Car replicas?

While I agree, a car on the street shouldn't be overdone with decals, there is a time and place for everything

Keeping on topic, the gold bowtie on that 4th Gen looks hideous
I certainly never liked the Pace Car editions, the first time I saw a first gen. Camaro with the Pace Car decals I said to myself they'd have to pay me to advertise for them with that car. Let's be realistic here, how many of the "Pace Cars" that were on the street had actually served in some capacity at Indy? A dozen? Maybe two dozen? Everyone else was driving "Pace Car" editions that were nothing but some decals slapped on production bodies/colors/options, nothing really special about them. If anything they took away from the "uniqueness" of the Z/28 striping (as they started slapping Z/28 stripes on everything) and to my eye made a great looking car look like a billboard being driven around. Now if you made a tribute version with special performance options and left off the decals, then you might have something worthwhile, say the right colors, special edition engine not available in any other Camaro, special trim, etc. and name it as a tribute edition, then you might have something. While the true original Pace Cars and the true racecars like the Sunoco Camaro (and others, Smokey Yunick's #13 comes to mind) should have a revered place in the Camaro's history, that does not mean that we need to produce another decal burdened "nothing special" tribute car. Just my opinion.

I saw those going a google search the other day, that blue does look pretty slick on the new model IMO.

I may be wrong, but it seemed to me the purpose of this thread was to show a tribute to the Camaro's history???

NOT a debate on what decals do to the look of a car.

There were many models in the Camaro's history, which due to their intended purpose, ie; Pace Car, race car, etc., sported decals. This one is just another tribute. And I like it.

And that's the only reason I see why this thread was created.

Whether decals on any car make it look better, or not, is a matter of personal preference. We all have our opinions.

That being said, I'll say I like the tribute to the Mark Donahue Sunoco Camaro.
