V6 v. V6
SS v. GT / SS v. RT

So there's more than a few people who are comparing the cars based on performance, and not their place in the lineup. Apparently to make things a little more 'fair'.

V6 v. GT / V6 v. RT
SS v. GT500 / SS v. SRT8

Honestly, there's not much to talk about if we don't do this.
I think it is completely unfair of you to put it in the gt and rt category without knowing the price of the ss. For now it is oprn game for the gt500 and srt8.

Because you guys dont know the price yet, therefore we can compare the srt8.

you missed my point entirely.

And you're under your own assumptions about the SS pricing (which I'll tell you again, is wrong - you should trust some of us on this.)

My point was that nobody knows exactly where to place the Camaro in the lineup. It's got slightly better performance than an SRT8 - and people will tell you that it will do that for significantly less $$$, putting it in league with the RT....so what should it be compared to?

Ill let you slide since you put ford before dodge.

I honestly don't know why we wouldn't compare the LS3 Camaro to the SRT-8. They'll be very similar in performance. I don't get why "the camaro faithful" shouldn't let this happen. If the Camaro is only a little cheaper, it'll still most likely outrun the SRT-8. If the Camaro is like 10k cheaper, it'll still outrun it, but be a lot more affordable. It's a win win for the Camaro either way. It's just a matter of how much of a win.

Well, we've been told that the Camaro will be priced competitively with the Mustang. And that $25 000 is a very bad guess on the V6. So the Camaro V6 that destroys the Mustang V6 and Challenger V6 will be somewhere in the low 20's -right in line with its competition. Why is it so hard to believe the same will happen with the SS against the GT and RT? Plus, we've been promised best in class performance. Upper 30's pricing starts to encroach on the GT500 and base Corvette, among others. If it gets put in a class with them, it won't have best in class performance.

Is it too good to be true? No, its how things normally are with the Camaro.

well we know the ss will obviously compete with the rt but it will also take on the srt8. it has 3 less hp but it weighs less. and as far as the mustang it will destroy the gt and it will lose to the gt500 but i would rather see it be compared to that and show it may lose by fractions, than totally dominate the gt. becasue if it loses by a bit to a s/c mustang and it still comes in thousands upon thousand of dollars less, then you reall can see where the camaro is a better dollar for dollar buy.
