if you going to pull the snout port it.

porting will definatly make more power but you just have to decide how far you want to tear down and how much money you want to spend.
This is how to keep your car a sleeper too. Depending on if that's a good thing or not

Very good thread! I'm leaning highly towards the GT9 for my ZL1.

Will post my build and results when I have collected all the parts.
your spending a lot of money there as is,a few hundred bucks more wont hurt if your really wanting to get a bigger bang for the buck,Its the GT9 cam..the ZR1 cam yes its cheap but doesnt really offer the gains that make it worth the cost of paying someone all the labor costs to install it,unless your really just wanting as close to stock as you can get..you get twice as much from other cams..I have read that the Zr1 cam is only worth 15-20rwhp ? not 35rwhp

As far as porting the heads and blower a lot of people do it,and say it also helps to keep the IAT down, but updating the hex, res, pump works the best for that, and if you look at the last 9sec ZL1 it has a completely stock blower not even the snout was ported, but it did have a killer set of heads..

I'd like to see a comparison in HP of the GT9 cam and the one Jannetty Racing Sells. Anybody have the specs on the Jannetty Racing Rough Idel Cam?

I read somewhere that our supercharger is not a good mix with a rough idle... The gears and lobes taking a beating? Backlash? Can't seem to find the info...

If anything I'd guess a rough idle would aggravate the issues with the SC isolater in the snout.

Will the lift on the cam cause any PTV -- Piston to Valve clearance issues?

And, will it require spring changes?

Just curious and knowing the durability of testing GM has done on the ZR1 Cam with assurances it won't crack, is it really worth going to the point of other unintended consequences? Dunno, just thinking out loud.

Ummmm, I think I would do PLENTY of research before I had something installed that would actually damage my engine, but thanks for your concern.

Feel free to give us a call here at Lethal Racing. We have many custom cam choices available for the LSA and they can be custom tailored for each specific build.
