I believe so, sti has different heads and I think a little lower compression. Also something to note is that the sti may have a bit more hp, dccd, and the tranny is supposed to be stronger, BUT it's almost still a 13 second car from the factory because it weighs more than a wrx.

If your gonna mod heavily sti is a better starting platform. For me at most I'm gonna do a stage 1 tune as it is my daily drive. Wrx is a very capable car

I will agree with this. I did check out a 2011 white STi that they had delivered and was sold on the lot. What a GORGEOUS car. That thing has a wide stance and looks mean in person. I instantly fell in love.
I have yet to see an EVO X in person, but have done a lot of reading on some forums about them.
How is your WRX in the snow? AWD must be awesome. One of the main reasons why I am leaning towards the WRX/STI/EVO = WINTERS. lol

Yeah it def looks mean. That's the new body style for the wrx and STI. Honestly I'm happy with the way it looks from the factory and that's saying something. IMO my good friend has an evo8 and I haven't liked any evo past that one. The 10 looks weird to me.

Man the wrx is really just amazing in the snow and I have owned other awd vehicles. I flat out rolled into in 2nd gear while it was snowing and didn't even get a traction control light. Turn off the traction control and man what's an absolute blast. It's such an amazing deal for the price since its so fun year round.

Considering Mitsu is going the way of Suzuki, Isuzu, etc.... and their dealer network is collapsing... I would be wary of warranty work and stealerships trying to get what they can.

Evo X is a superb and well rounded car nonetheless!

Dunno, I'd doubt it, but I don't know. The Z28s were lighter for sure.

no that is what I was trying got explain if you drive them back to back you would swear the 4th because of its low curb weight but its not the case.

Owned a 4th gen z28 , 5th gen ss (and a 1st gen also lol) and 2 EVO's.
The Evo's were/are head and shoulders above the camaros in the handling , steering, grip, confidence, coner speed and so on.
The just could use a lil more hp and thats just a tune away .

Well I currently own a 2012 SS with the FE4 suspension and it doesn't come close to my 05 Evo. But I'm hoping that's all about to change with my Pfadt Stage 4 about to go on. I want that "on rails" feel back.

Where are you getting that from? As far as I am aware the evo has always been in faster classes. I don't think anyone who has driven both stock or modified could say with a straight face that an f body camaro handles better than an evo.

Not many STi owners go to evos, but Evo drivers switch often. The resale value will tell you that, as will the low lease on the new one, they're struggling.
I've owned an EVO and loved it..not one issue. I actually almost bought one before getting my Camaro. I'd say the STI has a way weaker engine then an Evo and doesnt respond as well with modifications. Its been said over and over the horizontal mounted engine has weak rings and you're prone to get blow by. As for quality hands down the STi has better quality interior.
