Curb Alert Sensor
Anyone have one on the front. They go for about $150, so I'd like to hear some feed back from anyone who has one. Only found one thread and everyone seemed to be having trouble. Something about the alternator on the ZL1 shutting off which sends the sensor into recalibrate mode then shuts off. Also some comments about the sensor going off while driving.

I have it on my 2013 ZL1 and have no complaints. Works great fits in the lower splitter like it was meant to be there. Occasionally it beeps while driving if I hit a dip or something but who cares rather it work than replace a splitter.
See if you can find it. |

Second tier down from the top is my guess. How long have you had it? And was it pretty easy to install. Best price I've found is $150, on Southern Car Parts website. I'm just looking for some reviews before I go and order. Thanks for your input.

There were some posts about it a long time ago, so it might show up under the search. I do remember some people mentioning a voltage issue with it and some false signals.

Check out this thread starting with post #11. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238462 The Curb Alert beeps once when it shuts down due to voltage drop. If you cannot remember if it has beeped just look at your voltage to know if it is on or off. Or feed it off a voltage regulator. I haven't done this yet.

Where do I find this curb alert and the fix for the voltage, I'm interested in getting one of these!

That is pretty slick! The car should have come with that for sure. My Cadillac has four on the front bumper. Very useful for paralel parking also.

Maybe that's the way to go, get one from GM. Or at least see who makes it for Cadillac. The ones in the caddy's must be top notch. Also like to see the way they run the wiring. They obviously don't have any issues. It's definitely a must have on my list. Haven't hit or rubbed a curb, although I did do a little scraping backing out of someone's driveway that had just a tad to much pitch. Went in fine, but I must of backed out to straight. Anyway, what brand is it and model number. I could only find one, Southern Car Parts website, so I'd like to know what name and model you have. Again, thanks.

We have them on the rear bumper , why can't GM put them on the front especially with the ZL1's chin spoiler?

Wish I was more mechanically inclined, someone here must know how to add on another sensor. Order up one of the rear sensors and mount in front. Wire it up directly into the existing system. Sounds easy for someone good at electrical stuff, they can put this together and then show us how to do the same. My back sensors work great, well in the SS anyway, in the ZL1 I use the camera mostly, and when it starts flashing red I know to stop. I pay more attention to the screen than I do the sound. Without the back sensors I'd bet I'd have either some damage or I'd always be three feet away.

I have one, works well. As someone else mentioned it goes off on dips, but small price to pay.
I had issues with it because it was initially wired incorrectly. Works great now.
