PRO'S AND CON'S OF BLOWER FOR STREET CAR

what's the pro's and con's for a tvs style blower compared to a centrifical blower.
i would think that the blower that mount to the top of the engine would become a big heat sink espesially with the inner cooler being underneath the blower.

For street use, the TVS is great. I am never in boost unless I floor it... Even passing cars, going from stops, etc, most I hit is usually about -5 PSI. Then if you want to you can floor it and try to keep the back end going straight.

That is still one of the Classic Debates that will never End.

The PD TVS blowers are Way more popular for the street as they are More like OEM, fit finish looks etc.

And for a FAT car they make it move Pretty Effortlessly.

Centrifugals are More efficient, meaning Less HP to Turn Resulting in More HP per lb boost.

Centrifugals Feel more Like a BIG Motor about the same just off Idle but continue to gain power with RPM.

It could take years to finish this debate but choose what you Like and you will be happy Either Way.

Ted.

What Ted said. I would say if your just looking for something fun the TVS blower will be more entertaining with ridiculous off idle acceleration. Centris are great but offer more top end power. Besides excessive tire wear, fuel consumption, and increased oppurtunity for tickets do to excessive enjoyment of a motor vehicle I can't think of any cons to either blower. Like Epstein said, "The Bestest Blower ...Is the one The Person Posting has paid and installed in "Their Car"", which also means whatever blower you get you will think it is fantastic. Flip a coin and enjoy the ride............. Oh yea to follow the trend.......TURBOO! (Loudly screamed from the peanut gallery")

I had a TVS on my Silverado and I have a centri on my Camaro. Cant go wrong either way. Just do your research and decide for yourself which you think is right for your driving style. Then enjoy!

there is no downside to a blower unless tuned improperly.

There was this girl is High School........
Opps my bad

Anyway, You have to figure out when and how you want your power to come on and how you're going to use your car.

1/4 mile racing or autocross if you will.

Now you may never do either, but think like that and that may help you understand how you want your power.

More up front, or through the powerband.
