ABL problem - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So i just got my new camaro on june 16...so I have had it a little over a month. My ABL was working fine...then I had my windows tinted and my driver side ABL went out. So i figure i will take it in when I get my oil changed with my free oil change that GM has sent me. That was two weeks ago and now my dashboard ABL has gone out. Is this a wiring problem or is it because of something the window tinting place has done while tinting my windows???? Plz any feed back will be helpful... Also...will GM say it's my fault bc of the the window tinting and void warranty? I dont think so....but who knows.

I don't have an answer to your problem but I do have a question regarding the dash ABL... I just purchased a 2011 with the RS package and only my doors light up with the ABL. Is my dash supposed to have this too along the top edge?? I wondered from the day I got it why the dash wasn't lit up like the doors

If anyone has a pic of the dash ABL at night I would like to see it.

Guys On the 2010 cars it was only on the doors, If gm put it on the dash in 2011 that's news to me.

I didn't notice any ambient light in the dash of the 2011 Camaro I saw the other day.

Maybe the OP thought he had it in the dash, and the fact that the door is out is why

Anyhow, a short on the ABL circuit will cause the whole thing to go out. It's possible that the light in the drivers side door is faulty. If you have light in your passenger side door, then all is good.

The ABL is on the otherside of the door and the glass doesn't rub it at all.

So if the people who tinted your window had to take your door apart, then you might have a problem there. If they merely applied it to the glass without taking the door apart then there shouldn't be a problem with getting it fixed under warranty.

Even if not, the lamp costs $14 or so from the dealer.

I just took my car in and the told me to bring it back next week and they will replace it...free of charge of course. Well that's weird bc I do have ABL in my dash...

This, however, is different lighting than the doors. The doors are a tiny tube with light shinning through it. I choose to use AAC's RGB strips so that I can change colors and are much brighter.

Do you mean in the gauge clusters or running the entire length of the dash?

It looks too different from the ABL...because it's LED's and not a fluid band. It does do the job though. Looks good

It is very different. Stock is just a tube with light shinning through it. The RGB strip are several LEDs and are very much brighter. and THANKS!
