If you haven't checked by now, it's a device that reprograms your computer to change certain parameters. It gives a slight HP increase, among other things. One of the nicest things it does for the A6 is firm up the shifts so that the car feels more like a sports car.

And you, or anyone else, can have it for $220 shipped. =)

Has it been installed on a previous car? I thought these were tied to a VIN once they get installed.

It's only tied to that VIN while the tune is installed. When you use the programmer to return the tune to stock, it frees up the tuner for a new VIN.
