Ambient lighting/theatrical lighting?
I just received my 2010 2LT\RS yesterday and am loving it, I am just curious about the ambient lighting. Is there a way to manually turn it on? Also isnt it supposed to run across the dash in addition to the door panels, I am only seeing the door panels light up, and how does it know to turn the ambient lighting on? Thanks for any and all assistance that can be provided.

It does not run across the dash, designed out by GM.
Others can chime in on how to turn it on off. I think they are on all the time when the lights are turned on. |

the lighting across the dash did not make it to production models, and i believe it is turned on by your headlight switch, and can only be adjusted by the interior light dimmer knob

No it's only on doors wish it was across dash would look even sweeter! Not sure if turn on other than when they normally come on. Hope that helps a little. I'd say ownermanual might help on other question.

Hey so I'm curious...What colors for ambient lighting come on certain car colors? For example I ordered a 2ss Cyber Grey Metallic exterior so what color will my ambient lighting be?

well i have the same car you speak of and its a greenish blueish light not sure what color it actually. although i dont think the color exterior matters its all about the interior, if you get the IOM interior i believe its orange not sure on that though some other will chime in

Can you find a way to change the lights on the guages and the doors to the orange from the blue ambient lights?

My dealer told me that the IOM exterior has the orange lighting inside as well ...

Thanks for all the input that was given you guys really know your stuff. I wish GM would have approved making the dash light up, but beggars cant be choosers, I cant complain, my Camaro is awesome! Thanks again.

Originally, they were, but the company that was building it had some issues, and there was a lot of controversy. Either GM could push back the release date to include the dash lighting or bring out the car much earlier without the dash lighting. They chose to bring out the car (probably because everyone was already foaming at the mouth for the last year+)
