Ok, so once I can afford it I will want to make these mods to the 1LT that should be coming any day now... If I add 50hp, will the the automatic transmission be able to handle it? (how much can the automatic transmission handle) Would the mods void the warranty on the transmission? Would I have to have the dealer install them? I did opt for the 19" wheels which should be have the higher speed rating... there are just a lot of considerations once you start adding power...

I would think it could handle 50 horsepower ; )

But as soon as you make drivetrain mods the warranty can be voided.

I so feel you on the 50 hp benchmark. There's no real need for much more than that. Especially since you could get there with so little time and effort. 354 hp camaro? Yes please.

Probably a lot more than 50 horses, but you'll definitely be safe with 50.

Do you know anything about the manual's limits, Xanthos?

Just something for us to look forward to.

440 kW = 590hp

But V6's suck guys! We should know that the V8 is the only option to have...Right?

that 590 is impressive, but 12k, ouch! whats up with the lower psi kits? (those hp numbers are lower than a stock engine)

Those numbers are pre-direct injection.

So it's still a port injection delivery on those dynos, which means we can see slightly increased numbers as well.

The 12K hurts, and that's in Australian dollars, and if you convert it, it's almost as much as a 1LS Camaro!

That includes an intercooler, all the fuel system upgrades, piggy back for the engine controller, and a few other odds and ends I'm forgetting off the top of my head. It's a complete bolt on kit.

The V8's the top dog, don't get me wrong, but the V6 is just as comparable mod for mod. That's the point of that post, to point out that the V6's aren't just posers.

Edit: Another consideration is that it might be a chassis dyno, they don't explicitly state that on their site what type of dyno they used.

Umm.. negative on that one brosie.

I Australian dollar is only worth 75% of a US dollar.

Meaning this absolutely amazing package of destruction is about 9000 american.

On another note, why does the dyno chart say 440 HP in the upper right hand? Just wrong units, or what?

Also count in overseas freight and it won't be that much difference.

But yes it's labeled horsepower but Aussies use killowatts instead of horsepower. They list the kit as 440 kW as well.

Gotchya. But the point is, this will most likely be made here by someone, and we can expect to pay about the same for a similar package. Which is exciting.

No doubt. I'm looking forward to seeing how well DI helps with forced induction. Keep it stealthy and you can say all you have is a V6. That happens to run 11's in the quarter. But they don't have to know that last bit.
