Subframe bushings and rear drag alignment. Nitto 555r's. Nice balance between hooking up, tire wear, and tires that won't land me in a tree or a pond if I get caught in the rain.

Rear drag alignment will be the best suspension mod and give the most benefit. Drag radials second. Bushings are nice but not nearly as helpful as the alignment and drag radials.

Currently no suspension mods. Planning axels in the near future. I've been getting away with the stock ones as long as I care to try.

Current power level: 592 in the 100 degree South Georgia heat. Will be increasing power in a month or two.

So far I have been most impressed overall with the nitto 555r. They seem to have a decent mix of traction and wear durability. I say durability . They will give you miles but they will wear more than a conventional street tire by far. I got about 15K out of a set. Was able to cut some 1.75 60 ft times at 530 WHP power level. Those were 275 20s

Right now I have some NT05s the non R ones. Seem to be wearing slower but the traction is nowhere near the 555R. Same size .

I have a set of 315 18" nitto NT05Rs . I plan to try those out soon. I'll post up the 60 ft times once I get a few passes. Take into consideration I'm running a 3000 stall converter and 3.27 gear.

Maybe I can luck up and catch some cool air also.

Hey man you got 15,000 out of the nitto 555r that good. I got around 2,500 out of mine but I track the car more then I drive it. And I would think your good on the on the stock axels and diff. I lost count after 200 passes on mine cutting low and mid 1.50 60' at 586 RWHP with 3.91 gears.

I found 17PSI works good for me on 305/45/18 MT. And on 28x10x17 slicks 13 to 15 PSI

Mr. Nasty.
That's real good info. I've been concerned for a while about that part of the drive line. I'm not sure how many hard launches I had on that set of 555Rs . I kept those tires on the car longer than I should have . I wasn't inspecting them closely and once I did I quickly realize they probably should've been of the car already. I've also put off raising the power level on the car because it runs good , it's fun, and I'm not breaking stuff. I'm fairly certain that will change once the power goes up.

I'd like to get some info on a good starting point for the NT05R as far as air pressure and burnout heat are concerned. I didn't really beat the 555Rs a lot. They did seem to run well on a hot track surface though.

This one bothers me also! Currently at 550/565 and never had any problems on the 20" DR's, but I have a feeling with the new 15" wheels and new rear suspension it's going to hook up a lot better and start breaking driveline parts. Also looking to up the power to 650rwhp or so, and in a stick car i can't see the axles lasting long. Oh well, upgrade what I have to when it happens!

You guys running DR's I understand they're not full out drags, but how does the sidewall on these nitto's handle aggressive turns? Ive never ran a DR just high performance summers; but need more traction.

Going for alignment after I install my G force axles next week. What is comparison of stock alignment and drag alignment? I probably will split difference to get better tire wear.

Its a big difference between manual and auto on the drive train. From what I have seen you need the upgrades. But with the auto not so much just don't wheel hop it. I have been running 17" slicks cutting mid 1.50 60' with all stock rear. At 586rwhp and 633rwhp

I would start at 18psi and try that for me with the 18" MT and the 20" 555r 18psi worked good. With you HP you should be able to cut some 1.50 to 1.60 60'.

When I used 555r I had about the same set up as you cut as low as 1.57 with them.

Also running 4 x 305/30 R19 Pilot Supersports on Forgeline DE3P wheels, i was running the RE-11 Potenzas.

CTS-V 6 piston calipers

My car has been set up to run the road course and street, no real plans to run the 1/4.

Was at 758whp with the D1 but car is now getting twin PTE6766 turbos custom built. Looking at 20 or so PSI and should be between 1000-1100 whp at this mild boost level. Car should be done in about 3 weeks hopefully then will run it at Eagles Canyon Raceway using a boost controller to limit boost to only 8psi on the track.

With the D1SC even with setting the coilovers for drag, the car had no grip past 1/2 throttle 1st - 3rd and limited grip in 4th at 3/4 throttle.

HOpefully with the turbos the boost controller will help with this. I will run a BoostLeash boost by gear controller and plan on 1st-8 psi, 2nd-12 psi, 3rd-15psi and 4th at 20+

Here is a thread Justice Pete made after my last visit down to Pedders.

That sounds sweet. I wish you wear closer so I could get a ride in it.

My power level is 580-630rwhp depending on weather and dyno. Other than the suspension mods I listed I have coil overs.

I'm not supercharged yet I'm hoping by mid April if weather is good I will be getting my car done. However I did do suspension work to prepare the extra power such as lowering it I did a full bushings kit front and rear sway bars and I did put new wheels with fatter tires running 315 in the back and 275 up front so this should help with the extra power, my main concern is now my drift shaft and axles I won't be bringing it to the track most of my driving consists of down shifting and hitting it so we will see when the time comes I'll be talking to slowhawk.

I went with +0.8 camber and +0.25 toe on each rear wheel. Stock camber is around -0.5 and I'm not sure what the stock toe is.

I'll work from 18 psi. Going to try to make a few passes tomorrow if the weather works out. I would be real happy with 1.50-1.60 60' times. Real happy. I also think more time in the drivers seat will help. Thanks for the info.
