Don't let this decide it for you this is an isolated problem and the ARH is the best system for this car right now. Not saying there is anything wrong with kooks just saying don't let this event tip you over.

Thunder, I'm glad to hear you got them in. Nothing has changed in the design. It's the same headers since the start. With the steering shaft out of the way the header should slide right in. We did a set here last week in 2 hours after a 1/2 hour cool down. Positioning the header at the correct angle may have been the culprit. There is a sweet spot that allows them to slide in easily.

Enjoy the headers.

Nick

Nick, how similar are the Camaro and the G8 headers?

The driver's side header for the ARH systems was a sinch! But the passenger side was difficult trying to get the torque wrench and a hand in there with all the "junk" in the way. Bolting the driver's side was "wide open" as it gets, and getting both headers in place were very easy from the bottom. So im not sure where the problem was for your setup.

Trust me I know what your talking about.. I did my 99 F-body last year.. that was a major pain..

Nick Thanks.. even with the problem I had, I really do like the headers, and they are exactly the sound I was looking for.. Thanks

Has everyone used a torque wrench with header installs? In the past I have not because on my 1993 Z28 there is no freaking room, but with locking bolts I never had an issue with the bolts. I'm afraid my torque wrench is still too long and big to fit in the 2010 SS too.

Haha, you'd get a kick out of watching me work. On a 1-10 scale I'm a mechanical 3 and I either learn as I go or learn on these forums. You should have seen me trying to bleed my brakes after a rotor/caliper upgraid on my old Z28, let me tell you one thing, you cannot bleed the brakes when the calipers are installed upside down. I found the header install was a sinch the second time on that car but I'm so glad of all the extra room the 5th gens have.

Yeah you can use a torque wrench on a 2010 Camaro.
just remember it has aluminum heads.. make sure to torque to specified torque settings..

No problem here on my ARH`s 2 hour istall, like butter other than the factory cross threaded lt front o2 sensor...

Your problem would be one of several possibilities, engine biased more to one side from the factory, bent header in shipping or perhaps even a factory build flaw on your set. Everyone else these have been a cinch.

Who knows for certain but glad you got it straight.

Dude, I wish the exhaust on my S10 was that easy. For some reason, I just can't get the donut gasket on the crossover pipe to fit right. It took me 10 hours + 2 other people just to get this danged bolt into the manifold on the Passenger side. The driver side took me less than 5 minutes. That was a week ago

Just remember, if you're getting them shipped, all it takes is UPS/Fedex/whoever to drop the box or set something heavy on it one time, and it can mess it all up. I'd be willing to bet a bend most people wouldnt be able to see would be the difference between a walk in the park and a nightmare.
