It's confirmed!! The 1LE is suppose to be a direct contender with the GT350 according to GM.

lol..I was like hurry and submit..edit later if needed.. hahaha..

I'm so excited about this car that I've become obsessive in trying to find out new information as it appears on the web. I can hardly wait for it to become available. I am getting one and this will be my first Camaro ever. I've bee patiently waiting for this model for 8 years..as I'm sure others have. I'm just trying to figure out which color I want; whatever it is it must mesh well with the red painted calipers and black accents....

I had my reservations with the previous model, this my long wait time.

Not to counter you but he said last gen's SS...not last gen's SS 1LE. He was very specific.

he said "faster than the 5th generation v8"

im assuming he was referring to the regular SS since he later referred the 5th gen 1LE to compare it to the 6th gen 1LE v8.

He said this new 1LE beats the old 1LE by 3 seconds on a 2-minute track (5:16). Also they will have a lot of the accessories available for purchase in the performance catalog.

I heard that exact phasing too.

The GM internal track is called Milford and it's a 2 minute track.

This means it beats the ZL1 by almost a second. Slower than the z/28 by 2 seconds.

Also Chuckwala was a 2 minute0ish track and the GT350 TP was also 2 seconds slower than the z/28.

I believe the V-6 version is going to draw in a lot of new customers especially those guys and gals who like cars like the Nissan Zs...very smart move on Chevy to bolster this segment of the model..

So it was built with the GT350 in mind. That's what I figured.

Absolutely! Especially considering the 370z has been unchanged for several years now
