What 18" wheels will fit the SS

Looking for some 18" wheels to run drag radials on. Anyone have any suggestions on 18" wheels that will fit the SS/RS

Forgestar F14 & CF5, TSW Interlagos & Nurburgring, Weld RT-S, or Corvette 18x9.5 (+40 offset). I'm sure there are others, but these are probably the most commonly used.

Without verifying the actual numbers, I would probably guess the Weld RT-S wheels are the lightest. They are the only "true" forged wheel out of the listed wheels, but you will also pay the most for them (I think around $600 per wheel for 18"). The Forgestars are "rotary-forged" which means the inner spokes are cast aluminum, and the outer wheel rim is forged, it's kind of a "half-breed", but stronger and lighter than a full cast wheel, and relatively inexpensive (right around $1350 per set of (4) for 18"). I'm not sure on the TSW's, I think they may be rotary-forged as well (probably about $1100 per set of (4) for 18"). And the Corvette wheels whether OEM or replica are cast and probably the heaviest of the bunch, but on the flipside, probably the cheapest.

I believe the Weld RT-S wheels most they guys are using are 17". In a 17x10" they weigh around 19-20 lbs per wheel. But guys are running Weld skinnies up front and they would be lighter weight (but not daily driver friendly).

The TSW Nurburgrings are "Flow Formed" and weigh around 19 lbs in 18" sizes.

Yes, I am one of those guys running the 17" Welds. And without going up in the attic to look at the boxes, I'm not sure of the exact weight of my wheels alone. But I do know that with my new wheels and tires, I lost a total of 86 lbs. over the stock OEM wheels/tires.

And you're right, TSW calls their wheels "Flow Formed", and Forgestar calls their wheels "Rotary Forged". After reading Nine Ball's post (linked below), I see these are actually two names for the same process. And I guess I was incorrect to say that the outer wheel rim or hoop is forged....it is not forged, but "flow formed" like you said. Nonetheless, this is a great post from Nine Ball, and very educational (at least for me)

We have a lightweight 18" option you might want to take a look at.

It's already been mentioned, but the TSW Nurburgrings work as well as 18" Forgestars which you can find more information about both here

Click below for TSW's:

And here for Forgestars

I hope that helps!
