Exclamation NEED opinions! About paint chip repair.

I have about had it! I found 3 more pain chips! Totaling about 11 total. Now I had 14K dollar 07 dodge caliber and the paint on that thing was perfect after 80K miles. But after 6K on my 30K dollar maro....I am not happy. The other day I was cleaning the inside of it and you guys know how the doors swing to wide to have open inside a garage. So I very very carefully set the edge of the door against a wooden broom handle...and when I went to shut it there was a bout a centimeter in length of paint that was missing! You can really see how thin the paint is. So my question is...Do you guys think if I take it back to the dealer and b*tch enough at them that they might do something?

Good luck the dealership will tell you are SOL. This has been beaten to death I wish GM would do something about this it's far to common and should not happen I had no paint chipping on my 07 Suburban, or 09 Malibu YES it is a problem GM.

blame all the "green" people, they have to use water based paint and its obviously amazing stuff.

Water-based paint is not unique to the Camaro....something else is the cause of this.

no solution! I figured it would end up happening

every day driver CANT be in perfect condition forever, as much as it hurts to find damage on my car, I have learned to accept that it will happen.

Dr Paintchip has worked best for me, not perfect, but the best I've found.

I'm sure the wide hips don't help any.

you're right. you can't keep an every day driver in perfect condition. you can however do your best to help avoid getting paint chips and so on.

I just sold a 2008 BMW 135i that I drove for 18 months with roughly 16K miles. the car had two (yes, I said TWO) paint chips during those 18 months. my Camaro that was purchased right before Christmas (with roughly 2500 miles) already has like 7 paint chips.

freaking 7 paint chips in only four months while my BMW only had 2 in 18 months. that's freaking ridiculous. GM must be using some pretty cheap paint which isn't setting too well with this car owner.

oh, and by the way. none of my paint chips are on the front end of my car. I had the entire front end covered with a 3M clear bra which ran me a little over $1K. I can't imagine how horrible my front end would look already if it wasn't protected.

GM should be ashamed by such poor quality.....

Yea it will happen, but it shouldn't at a rate like this. I just wiped my car down and I have 3 chips right above the gills, and a VERY noticeable one on the front right where the bumper meets the hood. Something just isn't right. The slightest touch against anything, and you have a new scar on these cars.
