that is my point.
You're point is flawed, because by your logic, there's a big gaping hole in the lineup, price-wise. What will they put against the RT, and the GT?...hmm......

All the above information shows, is how badass the SS really is.
I'll promise you the SS will NOT be priced alongside those two cars. (and I've still got that post of your bookmarked.)

One step ahead of you. I've already drafted the thread and PM'd it to myself, waiting for the day. And to those wondering what the three of us are talking about:

I really doubt you will get a loaded SS for under 36k .. probably a little higher. Look at the performance you are getting. It is between the GT and the GT500 so I feel it will be priced in between them. Mark my words .. when the GT is putting out more power, it will move up in the price range a bit ...

Now, do I hope that I am wrong .. hell yes .. I would love to get the SS performance for in the low 30s

The Z28 would be the camaro priced around the SRT8 and the GT500. But with the SS already having 420HP i cant imagine what the Z28 would have.

Yeah i was hoping for this option to be available, but since i am not getting the car when it comes out they still have time to add it as a feature maybe in 2010 or 2011 Do you guys think thats possible to show up as an option.

Historically, the Z28 was a stripped V8 with less displacement, a race-tuned suspension, and slightly better times.

The SS has the FE3 suspension, huge displacement (6.2L), and incredible performance compared to the Mustang GT and Challenger SRT8. A Z28 could represent a twin turbo V6 (less displacement) or another V8, but there is no reason to believe it will be a bigger V8 or a car with forced induction based on tradition. The only explanation for the LSA rumor is evidence pointing to a supercharged preproduction car. The only explanation for the LS9 rumor is that the ZR1 has that motor. Both versions would, in theory, outperform the Z06, making it a ZL1 Camaro by tradition. In effect, a Z28 would still not exist.

In summary, the Z28 has been a traditional alternative to the SS. It is not superior by definition. It is a matter of preference. More bells and whistles come with the SS. Lighter, more nimble performance came with the Z28 until the fourth generation. What is GM to do if the SS has performance and lots of luxuries? Is it really worth it to build a Z28 if people can strip a base SS on their own? Right now, the market is not friendly to performance. We'll have to wait and see what GM does about the Z28 in the future. Pricing, options, and performance are all hypothetical at this point.

Assumming GM sticks to the original Z28 heritage...

As much as I want a Z28... I'd buy the ZL1 with the LSA or LS9 in a second.
