Valet (non-fob/electronic) Key?

This has been brought up in the past but never really got an answer... I need a key that's small and waterproof which, of course, the keyfob is not. Does the Camaro come with a valet key or something similar? If not, can a basic key be made or do we have to pay some ungodly amount of money for a plain key?

No, I'm not asking because I want to valet the car but I need a non-electronic key for my personal use!!!!

I don't mean this to sound rude in anyway, but why do you need a waterproof key? Swimming, rafting/boatin, theme parks, etc? I'm just curious

I don't need it for valets but for surfing. Would rather not have to bury the key in the sand or leave it on top of a tire like some people do.

I have friends who used to valet.....

There is no way in hell I would ever valet any car of mine !! : )

You've seen Ferris Beuller, right ? It happens ......

They used to time each other to see who could get the best time going from a starting point to the third level of their garage.... nice, a timed race with the customers cars, and of course, the better the car the harder they pushed it !

I've told my wife on numerous occasions I wished her keys were waterproof because of the reasons you mentioned above. Hers doesn't have a key to plug in but it's a keyless ignition. which is great exept for when you want to park the car at the beach and only want to carry a beer. You can't get in the water.

When I went to test-drive the G8, the key-ring the salesman got had the switchblade key-fob, and another 'normal' key. Maybe the Camaro will be the same?

Would you trust your brand new camaro with some magnetic container? And it's not like I could do that without anybody seeing...

My cousin gave his Escalade to Valet at the Hard Rock Casino and "lost" his keys he later (about 2 hours later) found out his car was stolen, but it was an "inside job" and the sad part is he couldn't prove it. So no Ferris Beuller stuff gonna happen to me because I refuse to valet!!

Isn't there a movie about this kind of thing? Sounds very familiar, haha...
