A/C condenser leaking refrigerant

Our ZL1 has 2900 miles on it, this will be our second warranty claim. This is a bad one as the windshield and dash must be removed to reach the condenser.

Hopefully removing the dash won't lead to future rattles and squeaks.

:( I had the A/C problem too.............but I don't think they removed the windshield and dash............I'm going to look up the thread because I quoted exactly what they did, when they finally got it fixed the third try....

Well, you might have a different problem than I had, but read this thread. I posted word for word what my service report said. Good luck.

this forum should have a ZL1 problem section because there have been all kinds of gremlins coming out of this car....

sad thing is it hasn't been out long at all.

The condensor is out by the radiator and the evaporator is behind the dash.

Just make sure they have it diagnosed right. My dad had a shop tell him the evaporator was bad in his truck so tore the whole dash out replacing it to save him money. turned out they had a bad testor and it was a compressor issue when he went to have it charged.

I have since started doing my own ac work. I bought a vaccum pump and everthing. Shops are very average now a days. They told my nieghbor his whole ac system was shot. it was a $4 shrader valve on the low pressure port.

make them show you the LEAK.

I only say this because who wants them tearing the entire car apart.

Damn, seems like a ton of little issues with these $60,000 Camaros, that probably shouldn't be happening............ Weren't these cars on quality control for a period of time..... I know some person will argue that it is still a "mass produced" car but still seems like a lot of problems all across the board.... Interesting....
