Who would have thought a year ago you could buy 2014 Z/28 VIN 427, new, for $60,920?

You can have both years # 427, in different flavors for that price, hard to imagine these are both still available.

I called last night before they closed, and they had a deposit on the 2015 black one...

Who would have thought somebody would have paid $75,000 for one in the first place. Incredible car, but to focused on one thing. Still wish they would have put the LS7 in the 1LE and let the buyer decide how he wanted it.

I understand your point. Chevrolet found a few hundred of us willing to buy-in at MSRP (or higher) and then things slowed way down.

That said, as you mentioned this is a very focused car, which puts it in the "toy" category. Let's see what the market for "toys" looks like X years down the road, and also after economists and assorted experts officially declare the recession is over, etc. Will MSRP once again look like a bargain?

Having owned a LS3 '10 SS manual and a '15 Z28, I don't see what the hubbub is on being "too focused". Now, the price difference between the 2, Yes. But in my opinion the new Z is twice the car my SS was. Infinitely more enjoyable to drive even over long distances. I wish all muscle cars handled like the Z

I paid full price and am not sorry one bit. Of course I would have been happier if I had paid less, but then I wouldn't have had the enjoyment of the car when the weather was good. Of course none of us knew this opportunity would present itself either.
This car is so spectacular in so many ways that the feeling I have driving it is beyond comparison for me and is worth every penny.
There's absolutely nothing like a 427 cubic inch naturally aspirated Chevy small block .... then pair it with the superb chassis/suspension.... we all know the result, a home run!!

Chevy found a bunch of us that did the same with the first ZL1s. For sure not putting the Z28 down. I really don't see either one being worth much in my life time, don't think I will live that long. Maybe my generation's grand kids. Everything will be worth a lot if it gets old enough, except us.

Msrp was never a bargain. It was 20k overpriced to begin with, hence the hundreds of them sitting.

I got to paint more houses. This is exactly what I would want. I would love to have this sitting next to the ZL1.
