Any early buyers NOT pay GG?

I got a call from my dealer yesterday basically telling me I squeaked through the purchase process without paying the $1,300 GG. Lucky me! I paid for the vehicle in full at purchase, and at the desk couldn't figure out why they were charging me less than I thought I was supposed to pay.

Then I thought, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

I didn't even bother to look at the window sticker in detail until I got the call yesterday. The GG tax is listed on the bottom left as $1,300 (as expected) but it's not actually factored into the purchase price!

Looks like somebody at GM goofed! But my understanding is the correction has already been made.

Heard this happen at another dealer, they are not selling it until they get a "fixed" sticker. Probably some legal issues.

I also noticed when the ordering site opened up, the $1,300 was not calculated as part of total price. Now it does.

Got mine and the dealer swallowed the GG two days later when GM notified them that they failed to include it in the sticker.

The missing GG taxes are being added onto the A10 orders in consideration for waiting so long to buy the car. It's a special incentive GM is giving all A10 buyers so that they will never forget their experience.

When I bought my 5th gen ZL1, the GG tax was listed under the options section on the window sticker. My window sticker on the new ZL1 is just like yours with the GG tax just displayed on the bottom left. I even asked my sales person about the tax and he said it was already figured in the base price of the vehicle. I certainly wasn't going to argue with him. Just hope karma doesn't come back to bite me because I didn't pay the tax.

What I hate is you have to pay sales tax on the gas guzzler tax for my state.(TX) So that $1300 is really $1381.25 (6.25% tax) for an "option" I don't want.

Yep - ^^^THIS^^^ is the worst part of all. Getting taxed on a F'ing tax.

Ohio is the same way but even higher - $1394.25 for me total on the GG for my Z.

A friend purchased a ZL1 out of state and actually paid for it prior to it coming into the dealer. Was getting ready to get it shipped and all this came down about the GG Tax. Dealer said they couldn't ship the car without the sticker including the Tax. I feel he isn't responsible for it, but it is a tax. And I've heard a few cases that is was forgiven. What do you all think?

I was about to leave to pick mine up last Wednesday, when my dealer called to say that GM had put a stop delivery order on all ZL1s due to this issue. While waiting for he new paperwork to be shipped, the order was changed electronically to a deliverable status...so he said I was clear to pick up now regardless of the paperwork. I didn't hesitate, but yeah...$1300 it was. The adjusted sticker is being shipped to me.

Gotta remember the dealers actually "buy" these cars before we buy them...so if they forgot to charge you, and GM somehow demands, or has already charged them for GG... they've got to eat it.

Lucky for those of you who go around it!!

Forgiven? Doubt that, maybe the dealer just ate it or adjusted the price so that the buyer did not get a new negotiated price maybe.

it appears to have been corrected on the one at Fremont Chevrolet. The sticker reflects the GG tax in the total price.

Good one! I'm trying to think positive and believe that the A10 will get a little better mileage and miss the tax, but with my luck, it'll be double like the 5th gen.
