Stock V8 exhaust to a V6?
I have a 2012 camaro 2LS 3.6L V6 and i want to know if i am able to take a stock camaro SS V8 exhaust and install it onto mine. It would be Cat-back.
Does anyone know if it would fit nicely? Do you know anyone that has done this before? Need some suggestions. Trying to save money and dont want to spend a lot on the exhaust. Ill be installing a K&N Typhoon Intake very shortly as well....

It'd be a complete waste. Go aftermarket.

The mounting points are the same and it will fit, but there isn't much to be gained. The pipes are just slightly larger, but still have the big, heavy stock mufflers. I have also been told that the V8 exhaust on V6 cars doesn't really sound all that good.

Same reason I went for the SS exhaust. You'll like it I'm sure. Huge upgrade over stock

no because he can buy the full catback system for the stock SS for the price he would spend on an axel back for an after market brand.. I actually have a full catback stock exhaust with mufflers sitting in my garage lol..

So you can fit a V8 SS stock exhaust onto the V6??
Would'nt the manifold diameter be larger than the V6's? That install will surely damage header gaskets or something when run for a while..No? |

no it should all be the same, from stock exhaust v6 to v8. I believe its the same 2.5 inch piping from the cats back. unless the v6 is on 2 inch pipes which wouldnt make much sense at all in my opinion.. if it is for whatever reason bigger then a little welding and a clamp should do the trick

Make sure the SS exhaust is from a stick. The Auto's exhaust has extra stuff in it because of the noise from the cyllinder deactivation and it won't sound as good.
