Just hold your foot on the clutch just past where the clutch engages. It doesn't take much pressure, and you don't have to strain your entire leg holding it to the floor. In fact, in most traffic (at least where I live) you can hold your big toe on the clutch, applying just enough pressure and inch forward ever so slightly.

ordered an Auto but switched to Manual! (see my post) though I did it because I dont care what the hell traffic i'm in.
Also, when I owned a 350z, I beat the automatic Z that was at the track that day by .4 seconds ... it all comes to the driver. practice practice practice. I'm not saying that you'll beat everyone at the track. though light to light or stop sign should be easy... track... well... if you miss a shift (and i did all the time) it's horrible... also, at the track REMEMBER!!!!???? you're RACING THE CLOCK and NOT the person next to you, care about beating the CLOCK! and care about KILLING THAT MUSTANG when it REVVVVS at you! at a light!!! |

Yeah it was a tough decision for me also. The wife thing came into play also in my decision. It was what pushed me to auto. Our 2 girls will be out of the house in 3 and 5 years. They don't go on much trips with us anyway so just my son, wife and I can hope in the car and do our vacations. We go to Disney alot and it is a 6 hour drive so it would be nice to take the Camaro and have the wife help in the driving.

That's a tough question, the automatic is faster, but the manual gets better mpg (if driven properly) and is more fun. I'd go w/ the manual. Although which one is cheaper?

Manual all the way. The wife loves a manual too so win-win. Also, this isn't my daily driver so that makes a difference.
