I just hope that Chevy doesn't rejigger their standard features and make them added cost options just to meet the lowball pricing of the Base Challenger and Mustang. I really hate the "stripper" models and "price leader" models.

There will be no gas guzzler tax for the challanger, all vehicles over 8500 lbs are exempt

What about people who hate having to buy a bunch of features they don't need/want? I know there's a few out there.

I had that problem when I was looking for my 96 S10. I wanted the 4.3 V-6/5 spd Reg. Cab. All the regular cabs I found were 4cyl. All the V-6 models were auto and extended cab. Took a long time to find the one I bought.

I'm one of them.

Just give me:

19-20 inch wheels, SC V8 leather seats and a Kick as Stereo!

Oh and don't forget the Bumblebee Yellow with black racing stripes.

I am just hoping I can get the 400hp ponies for a lil less than 35k...I can't see 400 being in the 40k range as stated before. I do believe that is relative pricing for the quality vehicle you are getting, but I dont see it competing with ford or dodge if thats the case...

Now obviously, I would see the 500+ GT killer being in the 40k plus range....I dunno, we shall see

You don't actually think the only difference is the engine do you? All SRT's come with upgraded interiors, exteriors (hood, ground effects, rims, etc. etc.), and suspensions. Plus the motor. They don't just put a different motor in a base model and slap an SRT badge on it. Ya know? Besides, those two motors are probably within a couple hundred dollars of each other. (Just a guess)

If I recall correctly, I read the SRT also has the NAV system..so tact at least 2000 for that. I do admit it seems kinda silly to have a 10,000 jump...but I am sure you can add accessories to the R/T as well to make it "even more loaded" and push the 34K range...

If I can walk off a lot with a loaded SS with 400 hp around 33k..ill be one damn happy camper.

If that's one helluva car, what's a car that's lighter and has 400 hp for under 30k called?
one superhelluva car

I need fobdfather or camero to please let all of us know if the bumblebee "sunrise" color which is a yellow/orange color will be availble as a choice on the base V8.. I would pay an extra $1,000 premium for that color. I believe the Mustang charges about $1,000 more for special limited edition colors so it wouldn't be out of the question considering that will probably become the most popular color if it becomes available.. Ofcourse, no premium would be better

Anything less than a V-8 hemi in a challenger isn't any competition for the maro. The styling and how heavy the challenger is won't appeal to that many people looking for a non-v8 option.
