Goal of 30,000 Corvette Stingray sales per year - realistic or not?

C7 Corvette Stingray sales are expected to be around 30,000 units per year from 2014 onwards.

Is 30,000 units a realistic or unrealistic goal?

Right now sales are around 12,000 annual, though it is the end of the C6's life cycle so sales are expected to be down.

I think they are setting themselves up to fail.

Hmmm. Interesting... approx 250% increase on targeted goals. I'm sure they have done their marketing-surveys and forecasting. Then again these are easily 50K+ starting price points... unlike our beloved Camaro5's.

On the other hand as long as the base MSRP doesn't shoot up say more than a few grand (I hope 3K tops), I wouldn't rule out at least 20,000 units per year. One of many reasons being that this major generation change may open up more very-new-to-Corvette type of buyers.

We'll see... but for sure, Chevy will milk the marketing to the T on the C7.

This C5 to C6 transition and build number chart will help... although it's still hard to accurately gauge due to different eras, economy, recession, technology, and many other variables, etc. 30,000 is a lofty goal... I just hope that those of us able to buy one will have fair & ample opportunity to do so by year's end or at least sometime early next year.

Hmm, maybe. But I do see a lot of C6 guys saying they will keep their cars. GM is really going to have to appeal to new buyers if they plan to make that goal.

Some will, but I really think a lot of the old timers (not meaning age, I mean people who love the old corvettes) are pretty pissed at the mis-shapen tailights on the C7. You don't see very much of the complaints on this site because the only people that would join this site are people that love the car. I have been around on several forums, trust me, not everybody is happy with the C7.

Who are probably the same old-timers who are pissed the C6 didn't have retractable headlights.

GM's philosophy: The design needed to change. People will get over it. The C6 was in no way hampered by its lack of retractable headlights.
