the only reason i wanted the 2ss/rs was because of 4 gauges. and even ordered one. but i ended up finding a 1ss/rs with upgraded sound PKG, and went for it. and also added the 4 gauges later.
overall the 2ss/RS is the man though. |

Same here! The less electrical gadgets to quit working, the happier I am. I got the 1SS because it's what I could afford, and I didn't really have to have, or want any of the extra options anyway. Not worth the extra $$ imo. That said, if I had to buy a v6, I probably would have went with the 1LT... the 2 is just too much crap to go wrong.

We wanted black interiors and we installed the 4 gauge package afterwards. I always wanted a red car with a black interior. The leather did not appeal to us.

I got my 1ss/RS because the options offered in the 2ss wouldnt get used except the reverse sensor...thats probably the only add-on I would have wanted due to the limited view while in reverse.
I have heard too many stories about the poor quality of the leather seats..ie being wrapped too loose. Considering the above, I set my sights on a 1ss and found one that some dude tried to buy but his financing went to hell. He put 600 miles on it so I got good deal on it. Im actually paying less per month for my 1ss than my trade-in...an 07 G6 coupe. The insurance increase was negligible factoring in my savings on the monthly payment. All in all I came out 12 bucks per month on the positive side with a damn nice car. |

1SS/RS M6 for me, the only thing I liked about the 2SS is the 4pack gauge cluster which is easily added later.

My wife doesn't like hot or cold leather on her legs. It didn't matter too much to me though. As stated above I do wish they had a more 2SS interior without leather. My other complaint is I had too look forever to find a 1SS new or used. They're just not that common.

[QUOTE=neocacher;4122720]Just curious why you didn't want the leather and the extra stuff![/QUOTE
In 1998 I bought a brand new Camaro z-28. It had "leather" upholstery and I was happy. After a couple of weeks, I decided to put some leather dressing on it. The leather dressing did not get absorbed by the "leather" on most of the upholstery. That is when I found out about leather appointed upholstery of which the Camaro has. Most of it is VINYL! after 30,000 miles in 2002 I traded it in for a factory ordred SS. The "leather" driver's seat looked like shit. I remembered how durable the cloth was in my 1987 Camaro V-8 sport coupe and that is what I ordered. GM will never get me again with their leather seating surfaces jargon. The 1 SS has every performance goody. That is what I bought my SS for. I have the gauge 4 pack, polished wheels and the Boston Accoutics. I do not need or want all of the other superflous crap. I have a garage so I do not want a remote starter. Blue tooth? I am not a phone using driver. If the 2SS had more horsepowers than the 1SS, I would have one. It does not and I do not. |

1SS/RS M6 here
For me it was all about the HP and foundation to build a bad ass street car. I have no use for the extra frills that wont be used (plus not liking leather) and costs more money. I would have been fine if it didn't even come standard with a radio. It's all about hearing that motor(and Maggie with cog drive now) as you row through the gears.

1SS/RS here. All I wanted was the LS3 in the most basic car I could get. The 4 pack gauges is the only 2SS option that I wanted. When I found out I could add those so easily the 1SS became my obvious choice. I wasn't really looking to get the RS package but found my car equipped with it and the factory installed Hurst shifter.

Got the 1SS because of the hot texas summers and leather don't mix. I plan on getting the OEM factory leather once I get a new daily driver. The only thing I miss a little from the 1SS is the HUD.

THE first one I ordered, was tlp blk,6 disc.,6manu.,with the system, that would have been the 2SS. THEY got the car back to the dealership, and SOLD my car to some
lady for 48000. when I got there to get my car, it was sold. And this happen in one day. PISSED ME OFF SO BAD, I didn't even want to deal with them. And I ordered the blue 1SS, AT 5000,cheaper,but still got what I wanted. |
