On a different note, had a incredible day today. 1st stop was BDS where we are going to be doing a one-off fuel delivery system. Last week, I posted I wasn't going to be using the black anodized rails; I came up with a different idea that I have never seen done before. The pictures below are a prelude. It will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete as they're busy with the Funny car work. Think individual hard lines running to each injector. -We will have to machine each injector on a laze to create a groove for pins -create billet hats -design some form of keeping the injectors planted I'm also looking to modify another LS3 intake to use instead of this one. I'm looking to: -mill down the towers where the bolts come down about an inch. (This way the bolts will sit lower) -powder coat it in texture black There's actually about eight different things I'm looking to do to the intake, but kind of hard to explain. As far as the throttle body, I going to replace it with a Nick Williams billet throttle body. I remember asking Kyle if he'd recommend I use one and he said it was over-kill for a stock engine. So I decided to stroke it You can see one of the billet hats on the rear driver side injector. German really took owner-ship of the project and is going to be treating it as if it were his own. FYI, I'm keeping the gun metal gray intake with the black anodize rails as a second look when I feel like switching it up. So please, no PM asking if I want to sell it. You guys know who you are, LOL. Next stop was CP Carillo to pick up my pistons. They really make you feel special when you walk in the door and behind the front desk the first thing you see is ...... I was privileged to received a personal tour of the entire facility by one of the founders. Being that a lot of what they do is propitiatory technology, I will need to first send them the pics to get clearance for posting ...... so stay tuned. Got to visit a few more companies, going to go eat dinner, will post later. |

Nathan...
That hardline setup is just so wrong... so wrong its SICK! I'm going to be interested in how they figure out how to make sure the injectors stay seated...

Nice pics Nathan! The one thought that came across when looking at your idea for individual fuel lines...you worked so hard to get rid of the ABS, now this looks like the ABS did. I do like the idea of electric hood release. Probably would just want it to activate if the ignition was off, or some other way to determine that the car was parked. 4 to 6 weeks...that's nothing!

Got the Vararam C5 intake tube today. This gives me an idea how much metal I will need to cut out off the rad support to make way. Putting the tube under the rad support makes it barely visible. The goal is to open up the front of the engine bay so that you can see the front of the engine and not just the top. This will be an interesting "little" project, LOL |

On all this "stuff" you're cutting away make sure you don't cut away structural support. I'd be very leery about cutting into that cross member that intake tube is sitting on in that last picture. That cross member is providing structural rigidity and support for the front of the car from side to side. I wouldn't cut the top or the bottom and weaken it where it would buckle or distort under side loads while cornering.
