I saw that. im sorry, but the ridgeline, even the avalanche, and I know there's another out there are freaking rediculous vehicles. There is good ugly & bad ugly, and the Avalanche and ridgeline are a puree of all things hideous that could be conjured up. It's truely impossible to see past the butt-nasty nature of this vehicle and appreciate it's functionality. The damn things are COVERED with plastic cladding.Just look at this thing. It makes little sense stylistically. The body is unbelievably disproportionate to it's wheels and ride height. It's looks like something a 4th grader would sketch.
Granted, they are officially considered a Truck, but it's annoyance factor forces me to stuff it in with the SUV consortium along with all of these so called "crossover vehicles". Typical Driver: Urban Cowboy who thinks Cowboys drive Avalanche's and Ridgeline's. and the fact that Chuck Norris supports them, whether he's getting paid millions or not go to show you why Greg Norris is superior!!!

At least the Avalanche is a body-on-frame honest truck. Its an ugly truck, but still a truck. The Ridgeline is a bloated crossover with the back end cleaved open.

Are you kidding? I think the Avalanche is awesome...especially the latest ones...Chevy did a great job of redesigning them (this time without the plastic cladding...which by the way, after the first year and a half of them being out, you could get one without the cladding and they looked good then too.).
The original Avalanche concept was very cool...but, like all concept-to-production deals, things change. Wheels sizes dropped, light bars weren't available, bumpers changed a little to meet crash standards, etc. I agree, GM/Chevy doesn't put big enough wheels/tires on it to fill the wheelwells (on any of their trucks/SUV's really), but they are available....(smaller diameter is a cost saving/keep the price down thing...nothing more). Now, don't get me wrong, I would rather have my Silverado Crew Cab, (same functionality but at a lower price), but the Avalanche is a great option for someone who has a couple of kids that have to be hauled around, but also need a pickup. My only gripe about the Avalanche would be the cost. The Ridgeline is a (very) overpriced POS...no doubt....it isn't a truck, it's a slightly lifted El Camino, and that's not a good thing. |

Wanna talk about hidious vehicles, what about the Aztec? Who would ever but that down on a piece of paper and be proud of what they acomplished? THEN who would go to a dealership and say "Damm that looks nice, I've gotta buy one of those"

avalanche and ridgeline are the same thing. with the exception of a few interior details and the exterior styling, they are still a half ass attempt at a "multi-role truck"
as far as the aztec....

I don't care who you are, that was funny.....
As for the Avalanche vs. Ridgeline debate... Well, the Honda is only about 60% the size of the Chevy. When not in 4-wheel drive, the Chevy is rear wheel drive....the Honda is front wheel drive when it isn't all-wheel drive. The Chevy doesn't "top out" with a little V-6, rather a good old American V-8. When you need to, the Chevy could tow almost anything and can get through some really muddy stuff....the Honda, not so much. Oh, and probably the most important difference....the Avalanche is AMERICAN MADE. Love it or hate it, the Chevy is not the same as the Honda. |

Sorry but this is a habit of mine. You mean 4WD, not AWD
AWD means 4wd all the time. 4WD means it's part time. |

Ridgeline isn't even worth my breath...not even to laugh...anyways:
The aztec was the result, if I remember an interview with Lutz correctly...of something about mutiple polls saying what they think would look good where...instead of letting the designers, and engineers do their job. Then Lutz and Wagoner arrived...and pretty much said No...Hell. No. |
