Wow didn't realize the insert was carbon fiber. I wonder if this will be an extra cost option like the gen 5 ZL1. Always heard the hood insert on the gen 5 was carbon fiber and you paid extra to not have it covered in paint. #whatascam lol

Because the weave is going to be visible, when they lay the fabric, they have to take special care to make sure the weave pattern is straight throughout the insert. That extra effort is more labor, thus more cost. If the insert is to be painted, then it doesn't matter if the weave pattern is less than perfect. Not a scam at all. |

gotta have exposed - hoping no more than $800 option. It was $600 on Gen5 ZL1.
BTW...where are you that you get to see this?

I wish they would bring out the ZL1 to the Hot Rod Power Tour lol. They will be bringing out the Fifty editions though which I am looking forward to seeing, along side perhaps seeing some familiar faces from Chevy. I cannot wait to see a ZL1 in person though I think it would be bad for me because I must hold out till 2018 lol.

I do not believe those images were from the NYIAS. He must have caught it somewhere else.

I could tell you.... but then I would have to kill you !!!
JK.. Chevy brought the silver convertible to Barrett-Jackson WPB. But they refused to open the car or roll back the roof. I thought Mr Wyndham might like to see the silver with the exposed CF Hood insert. Here are a couple of pictures comparing a ZL1 grill to an SS grill.
