Pros & Cons of deep lip and no lip?

What are the pros and cons of deep lip vs no lip wheels? I'm considering new wheels and tires next year so I'm doing my research now. I do mostly street driving on weekends and occasional road trip as well as occasional road course track time (hopefully next summer) so I was concerned with how well a deep lip will perform on a road course vs a no lip wheel. The deep lip looks more showy but I'm thinking no lip is probably better for latteral loading on the wheel in hard turns. Thoughts?

Oh, here's the wheels I'm considering! TSW Nurburgrings (no lip) or Valencias (deep lip)

Lip vs no lip has zero to do with performance changes. What matters is weight/materials of the wheel. Lighter wheels accelerate and brake easier, based on simple physics. For track performance, the tires will play a more important role. Tire width, compound, temperatures are key variables.

If you want to learn more about different types of wheels and their pros/cons, I cover most of this in my article here:
