Did you get the ones that it comes with from the factory or the other set?

Subscribed...Ive got just over 20K Kilometeres on my car (12K miles), and I have noticed that when my car is idling, it sounds quite a bit different now...over the sound of the normal direct injection ticking, you can hear a sort of "dry" hiss coming from the engine. Could this be due to the cold or is this typical for an about-to-fail timing chain?

Also...

Other problems noted: OCCASIONAL (once every couple months on a hard shift) 2nd gear grind

As well as horrible squeaking brakes that happen regardless of the weather constantly.

Thinking of dropping the car off at the dealer in mid February while im away on vacation to give them a week to sort out all the problems.

Oh, and my one taillight has a LOT of condensation in it that needs fixing also.

Other than all this....no problems :S

Wait a sec...from the posts above these I was of the impression our 2010 LLTs got the "updated chain" from the factory. So are you saying that earlier/all 2010 LLTs got the older chain? So confused and worried lol.

When I entered the updated chain parts numbers into GM Parts House it gave me no parts found. I searched the older part number and it shows it as used in our engine for the 2010 year. :(
We'll have to wait and see what the difference is between the two when bmwdon gets his. I think its safe to say that we have a timing chain upgrade in our future.

12616608 $49.56
Engine - Camshaft & timing - Timing chain
Timing chain, camaro, secondary - 3.6l 2010

12616609 $43.47
Engine - Camshaft & timing - Timing chain
Timing chain, camaro, primary - 3.6l 2010

Thanks for trying. I just thought of this, since you mentioned you can get it to work either, maybe print it, scan the V6 section and just post that part of it.

subscribed... I've got 30K on mine already. I'd like to know if we have the updated chain or not.

Blur: PM me with the size of the thing. If it is small enough I can just put it on one of my web servers and post a link. That may be faster than you or catman printing and scanning it.
