yikes!!! sorry, my post isn't providing any useful information.. But that really sucks. Just take the car to the dealer and have it looked at. I know they say never to leave the steering wheel locked all the way in one direction for more than 30 seconds because it can damage power steering. But really, that's kind of lame if your new car broke because of that.

The rental is what you're supposed to do donuts in!

Hmmm... I've done quite a few donuts in mine and never had an issue like this. Definitely take it to the dealer, definitely do not tell them you were doing donuts.

now you gotta do donuts the other direction. FWIW, it is always easier to turn the wheel when the car is moving.

If you put a power steering pump on the lock (no further to go) the pump is tring to put approx. 2500 psi on the rack, those little fins in the pump shatter! If you need to do burnouts, DO NOT GO TO THE LOCK (end of travel) Sorry that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well some of these doofus's believe that...a proper break-in means better performance and more longevity...obeying the law means no tickets, and therefore more money for gas....and tracking the car as opposed to driving wild on the streets means you won't kill somebody....terrible thought process, I know.

<sarcasm>

Missmy68, that sucks big-time...let us know what the dealer tells you the problem is. Hopefully it's not expensive.
