2" or 1 7/8" headers

Im sure its been asked a thousand times but Im still learning how to work this forum. I have a stock 2014 Camaro SS. Im looking to get some headers from Texas speed and performance but they are currently out of stock in the 1 7/8". They have 2" headers available but even though bigger is usually better, I don't want to make a lot of modifications if the 2" don't fit. So do they both meet up the same?

No get the 1 7/8 unless u plan on adding boost. It's also easier to install if ur doing it ur self. I was gonna get TSP headers but they are out of stock of 1 7/8 so I got Stainless Power headers with highflow cats for $700 shipped brand new. Currently waiting for them in mail

Get 2"... Multiple shops show the most gains without loss down low and it can only help in the future with mods.

The diameter can influence where you're making power and torque. Personally I'd argue that these heavy cars needs help down low. You also need to consider length of the tubes. Any exhaust-scavenging pressure wave has to travel that distance....but with a street exhaust no header's really fully tuned. That said it's also probably not that big a deal to go bigger with these engines.

What's the diameter of the exhaust valve and the size of the exhaust port on your engine? I'm told these are the considerations for maximum primary diameter.

Just some food for thought.. Same brand... All 3 sizes... 2" made more average and peak power

Also if youre buying tsps they are in a redesign to fit the 14s and 15s. Supposed to be available march 20th.

I think the diameter is 3" for the exhaust valves but I have no idea what the measurement of the exhaust port on my engine is...that's why I was asking if the 2" headers would even fit, in the hopes that someone knew from experience.

Yes they have them, but they redesigned some things so it fits better. If youve waited this long, wait a couple weeks more imo i have a baseline dyno and will do an after dyno once installed If you wanna wait as well

I wish I knew they were working on a redesign for the 14+ cars. Maybe I wouldn't have had my clearance issues. Personally, if I were to do it all over again, I'd get 2" (again). As was posted earlier, the gains are pretty consistent over smaller headers so, other than potential clearance problems, it's almost a no-brainer.

get stepped headers best there is for our purposes.

1 7/8 vs 2 is redundant in your every day Camaro, you wont notice the difference.

Woopedoo if they make 5-10 HP at certain RPM. You wont even notice that when your actually driving or racing it. I'll take easy fitment over that anyday of the week.
1 7/8 ftw or if you want get stepped headers.

Really? If you think your exhaust valve diameter is 3", how big do you think your intake valves are?
