I'm going FI. Finishing up the project the next two weekends and I have the Kooks catted mid pipes. My state does a visual inspection... Can't I just gut the cats?

They hate all of us Camaro owners. They delayed the ZL-1 because it wouldn't look good to the tree huggers, if they released it when they could have, with the government owning part of GM. Because they make a ton of money on every Camaro they sell, and they have sold like hotcakes, which helps pay back the bailout loan from us taxpayers faster, they finally realized they had another profit making opportunity with the ZL-1 and relented. Talk about hypocritical....

If they had their way, there would be WAY fewer of us out there, don't kid yourselves...

There is a difference but it is not that big of a gain for running no cats. My buddy also has a SS and we have the same mods except he runs high flow cats and I don't my car made 1hp more and 2tq more on the dyno. In my opinion run catless connection pipes especially if your going to go FI.

Agreed. Stock cats suck. But let it be known that removing them makes the factory exhaust LOUD!

High performance car owners with no cats do very little to the environment. Most are like me and put less than 5k a year on their cars. Plus we make up very little of the automotive world. If you want to look at the cars that are hurting its massive SUVs that carry 1 person per trip putting 40k miles a year on their cars or huge diesel trucks putting tons of miles a year on. We are but a pin drop if that in the grand scheme.
