This is great news. It's awesome that the v6 has that much horsepower and it's even better to find out that it is kind to after market mods! I can't wait to get my hands on one.

One can only hope. However, I'm thinking it will put it closer to 5.5 or so...

Well, it depends on the exhaust, but also on the size of the eight you're comparing it to. The 3.6 already sounds a lot like the 5.0 that I had in my IROC, and thats without the flowmasters on it yet. I've heard many V6's that sound very similar to small displacement V8's - enough so to make me look twice (I remember a mercury cougar in particular...) - but you're right, no way a 6 is going to sound like a big block.

Did you hear the red V6 that they debuted in Detroit? That thing was mean sounding, and I'm one that usually shuns a V6 exhaust. I am pretty sure the DI will surprise most.

So with exhaust, intake and tune you can probably get 45rwhp?
Thatll get the new camaro into the high 13s. But I want a high 12 second car |

Heh, well, I'm only shooting for 13 seconds. But, with that said, the exhaust and intake used to get the 31 rwhp number did not include any changes to the cats or headers. So, at 3 hp or so each for a ceramic core magnaflow performance cat, thats 43 horses before the tune - I'd say about 60 after. And thats on the stock manifolds and 87 gas. Throw in headers (I'll be buying some from GMPP if they offer them) and, well... you get the picture =D.
- Xanthos P.S. - Also, I heard from D3 cadillac (the makers of the intake and exhaust that were used in that +31 hp test) that they are currently developing a supercharger for the 08 CTS DI. Makes me shiver thinking about it.

Well, from my point of view, I don't often visit the track, and there aren't many occasions on the street for me to go all out for 1/4 mile, so 0-60 is a more reasonable measure of how I'll be driving my car fast in the real world.

Mustangs are port injected like most modern EFI engines. Direct injection actually shoots fuel directly into the compressed cylinder microseconds before the spark plug fires. It is pretty cool stuff. So in short lol, no the Mustang isn't DI...yet.
