Does the new Tremec in the 1LE have less parasitic drag than the other? Also how efficient are the rears on these Camaros. I know in the past the SWAG was 10% loss for a manual and 15% for an automatic. Is it possible there is some "found HP" in the transmission?

4000lbs and 12.7 1/4 mi equals roughly 385 hp

Just from personal experience some gearing can help. The old 2.73 geared F-bodies almost always dynoed much lower than the 3.23/3.42 counterparts. I've dynoed several hundred cars by now so its not just a example or two or something I've noticed on the internet. Now, if you go from a 3.42 to a 4.56 you will see a loss but it does seem like there is a sweet spot in there. Personally I think the numerically lower gears dynoing lower has to do with wheel, tire, dyno bearing friction at very high speeds.

The 385 number is what I was expecting to see when I had mine put on the dyno.... next time mine will see a dyno is when I do the headers, ported throttle body, washer relocate and scoop and probably an underdrive pulley. Combined with the already installed CAI cai, I would be very happy with 415 or 420. If it turns out that the first dyno on my car is 100% accurate I will piss a bunch of people off with a 440 or 450 bolt on SS. |

Ok lets do some number adding and then you can yell at me.
CAI which some or all of high HP cars have could give +6 NPP Exhaust on Vette is known to give +6 so it could be true here Electric power steering has been said to be +5 So right there we have a possible 17 HP gain Stock LS3 is around 385 so 385+17=402 I could be totally freaking wrong but would love to see a 2013 LS3 with NPP on a dyno. It would be cool these #'s are right since I have all that on my Kami. As far as my breaking I stayed under 4K first 400 miles and under 5K the next 1000 miles. |

no yelling... but the stock average for a pre 2013 LS3 is between 370 - 375.
I think a 2013 LS3 SS with EPS AND NPP should be about 385 easy. Add the 1LE (trans, gears and wheels) package and well... Although most everybody (mainly people who have never driven one) says all that stuff JUST makes the car "feel" faster. |

Compared to my 2012 SS/L99 with CAI and CAT Back my 2013 ILE with CAI would kick its ass, but thats not saying anything bad about the L99 except for that crap 4 cyc mode. Just my opinion, I will be taking mine 13 to test and tune and will post results.

We just picked up our shop 1LE this past weekend and got the baseline just a few moments ago. The SAE numbers were 387/390. Not bad for 34 miles It does have NPP also.

Yeah, those corrected numbers make more sense. Finally, our car has three driving modes and each will change the steering ratio/effort.
First is normal. Second is competition mode with two taps of TC button. This also enables launch control. This mode turns TC off 100% and puts stabilitrac into track mode. Third mode is hold TC button for a few seconds, I think 9. This turns everything off and ur steering wheel will stiffen up more.

So it is possible a 2013 LS3 with NPP and a CAI could be right around 400 at the back wheels then. Since the dyno should be taking care of gearing to get the correct results.

We have always had the three modes for traction, addind in the steering response is the only new aspect of the system.
