Maybe because I live from stop sign to stop sign in the suburbs of Philly where you really don't get the opportunity to drive in open wide spaces, of lets say the Great American West. My 2LT/RS is a great comfortable car for the $31 k I spent on it. A few mods is all I planned anyway. My real daily driver is a police pursuit vehicle...Can't legally drive on the street any faster than that!

I didn't choose mine, it chose me! I just have to pay the taxes. I would have purchased a V6 anyway. Why? Going from four cylinders to eight would be too much. My other car is a Focus ZX3.

I would have bought a SS if my wifes car was paid for, but i would have had to wait two years for that to happen and wanted the car NOW.That said I love the V6, it's a fun car to drive and in reality has all the get up and go you really need. Getting the V8 would have been for no other reason then bragging rights. One otherthing, I REALLY don't like the look of the mailslot on the front of the V8, wouldn't have stopped me from buying one but i think the V6 has a better looking frontend without the slot.

The biggest reason is that these cars are too heavy anyway. I have something inherently against any performance minded car that weighs at or over 2 tons.
Suspension mod for mod, the V6 will handle better and it has a slightly better weight dist. and it feels a bit lighter on its feet, and I don't 'need' the extra power that comes along with that weight increase because I'm building another car that will smoke an SS in every direction nine ways from Sunday, so I'm satisfied.

Secondary reason, I'm in love with the LLT. It's the best of a lot of things that GM has ever put out, and I really dig the screaming exhaust note with the Corsa cat-back (though admittedly, the V8 rumble still wins that comparison).
It still isn't a 'fast' car by any means IMHO, but it's more than adequate for my daily driving duties. I can't help but drool over the thought of this powerplant in something weighing 3000 lbs. or less (RWD).

I could have driven away with an SS just the same because I can afford one, I just didn't want to. Strange considering that I've been a die-hard V8 F-body guy my whole life, but that's saying something about this car.

So everyone would ask why I did not get the SS V8? LOL, happens all the time as planned.

Few Mods bring car to 325HP. Getting 31MPG on Highway at 70MPH, any other questions...

Good Luck

Well, I doubt my reasoning for getting an LT will be remotely close to yours, but I got mine because I'm 17 and my parents would not allow me to get an SS as my first car. I can't complain, I love my Car and I don't need more than the 312HP I already have. If you want the extra 100HP, and have the money I say go for it!

2010 Synergy Green Special Edition > V8.
Plus, I want to see what GM's Direct Injection V8 will do.

I look for certain things when I buy a car, so here's the top 3 reasons why I bought my 2LT RS:

1 - Car has to look good. (enough said)
2 - Has to have a decent stereo. (has good sound and I can use my IPOD)
3 - Must have decent power. (312 hp works for me)

This is my 5th Camaro (3-Z28s, 1-IROC), along with 2-GTOs (65 & 04). So for the money, I'm very happy with my choice, as I'm sure you'll be with yours.

I got a mostly fully loaded 1LT RS for alot less than the 1SS I was looking at. 312hp is more than enough for me @stock. My 1LT looks just as good as the SS.

..and my insurance from a 2003 Nissan Altima to my 2011 Camaro went up 11 dollars a month. Can't beat that.

Mostly the cost of insurance, gas, and keep up. Plus I am only 19. I do not need 426 horses at this age. I absolutely love my IOM 2LT. Once I get out of college I will buy myself a 2SS/RS.. Maybe a Z/28 if I have a wonderful job
