SSX, 1LE, or other?

So far, GM has shown us two cars which many have thought to be glimpses into what a Z28 may be like. Which one do you think best represents the Z28?

  • Last years SSX, the all out race car which would never be allowed on public roads

  • This years 1LE, essentially a ZL1 with the drivetrain & bodywork from an SS

  • Some other interpretation of your choosing.

I really like the 1LE as a z28 but I voted other just because I think a few things should be different. I like the use of the exhaust and suspension from ZL1 but I think copying the spoiler and ground effects goes a little too far. I would like to see functional rear brake vents that look like those from TF3 and a completely new spoiler and hood. As far as performance upgrades, I'm fine with the 1LE and am in favor of leaving the LS3 the way it is, affordable.

Oh, and new rims too, though I do like the SSX wheels.

I'm for the 1LE with an engine between the SS and ZL1 and options by buyer.

The 1LE is a streetable version of the SSX - look closely.

I'll take a 1LE with 475+ HP. Then I'd call it a Z28 if I was GM.

If the aero works why not use it? A lot of money and time were spent by GM on the ZL1's aerodynamics.

I voted for the 1LE. If this was 2010, SEMA showed off this 1LE and I knew about the ZL1...I think I'd be hoping they build the Z28 just like it so I could get it instead. I think...

It doesn't even need more power, imo...but I wouldn't say no.

Of all things the Z28 of the past was...it was never an off-road-only car...you should be able to drive it back home after a day of racing, and the 1LE concept makes use of readily-available and extensively tested equipment off the ZL1 to create a fantastic mid-level handling car for what I'd assume is an affordable price (43-45k). I'd take one if they built it as the Z28!! (If this were 2010...)

Possible changes I'd prefer to be made?

Dry-sump LS3, and a couple beefy drivetrain components...it would drive the weight up a few pounds, but a worthwhile investment, imo...

Just a quick thought...the 'functional' rear brakes would do next to nothing...it'd be far more effective to borrow the ZL1's front brake cooling components...it's a shame nobody can see it, but it works!

100% 1LE best Camaro I've ever owned and if they priced it like they did the 4th gens I would order one the day it came out. But with the new gm it will be 10k more than a base 1ss and won't be affordable for a middle class family man with 2 kids and a morgage (meant to be funny not hater replies please last time I mention something about the price being to high some guy ripped me I just think there should be a base v8 car that is cheaper than what is out there right now) p.s. I'm on my 10th Camaro only 1 of which was a 1LE.

Pinhead, here, votes "Other"...not to be contrary, but because I (and perhaps I alone) seek an amalgam of Camaro parts (real and/or imagined) that results in a Camaro GS/Z06.

The closest from the two choices? 1LE (if forced to pick one or the other). But it SERIOUSLY needs a boiler room upgrade (which is easier AND less '$ensive than a diet)...just so there's NO CONFUSION between the FoMoCo Camp and us Camaro Comrades aka Horse Rustlers!

You're right, and I like the way it looks, I just think the Z28 deserves its own bodywork.

Voted Other, Still looking for an LS7 powered Camaro. Even if they make a Z28 with a different motor, it would be great if they could give us the option to choose an engine option of LS7 on the order form.

I voted "other", I'm tired of all the models looking alike.

IT'S TIME FOR A COSMETIC CHANGE!
