Not to shoot down camaro scotty, i am sure he knows more about selling cars than I do, however, I have been on ebay for years, 4000+ transactions, and ebay changed there rules on selling items like this, and they are no longer fuzzy, you MUST have the item in hand, with proof of the recept and water mark all of the pictures, they started these rules when the PS3/Wii came out to prevent scammers. with the way that it looks, one of two things will happen, 1. ebay will delete the auction. or 2. the auction will end, and the high bidder will just not pay. simple as that there is almost no chance that the seller will get any money which ever way it ends.

Ebay now blocks people from seeing the bidder's ID names, they started it about 2 months ago, only the seller can see all of the at the end of the auction

and Bob bids $20.00
Ebay will then bid on behalf of Jack $20.50
Then say Bob bids again $50.00
Ebay will once again bid for Jack up to his $100.00 max bid

But, when you look at the bids, Ebay doesn't show the automatic bids, so it looks like Bob was bidding against himself...

Start- $1.00
Bob-$20.00
Bob-$50.00
And so on.

There's a button you can hit that'll show the automatic bids.

You're not shooting me down. I have nothing to do with this auction, other than I think it's a joke, and it's totally deceptive.

I agree 100% - and yes, ebay SHOULD pull the auction. The item is not in hand and available for sale. This was my point from the beginning.

Penguin he is not selling a car. He is selling the contract with the rights to buy a car. He says he has the contract in hand. Technically, Ebay may not be able to pull the auction on that basis.

On the other hand sheeesh, what a shame.

sorry if my comment came off like that, I know that he has nothing to do with the auction, I was just tring to put out my .02 cents of information, scotty just said that the rules were fuzy, so I just wanted to let him and everyone know that they have since made the rules alittle bit more strict

I'm curious...He's a customer, with a contract from a dealer (supposedly)
Yet he's claiming that dealers won't have an SS until late 2009(which is total BS)......so......how is HE getting it before hand?

Someone want to pose that question to him, please? (And don't forget to mention the BS part.)I just don't have the time right now.

Someone should put an auction on ebay selling a contract for the first production version of the "secret agent-astronaut-millionaire" photo. Set the reserve to $10000 and act like a self-entitled jerk to everyone who inquires about it.

This guy is a tool. I can't see he is doing anything illegal. Good luck to him, I hope the bidder actually pays. You know how people can bid on things then not end up paying. How horrible it would be for him to have someone bid the auction up and not pay. He would have no other recourse than to give them negative feedback. Oh the humanity! He would have to relist and everything.

I do feel sorry for the poor sap who is sooo scared they won't get a car in the first month. I hope they enjoy being "the first from this dealership" what an honor and braggin rights that will be for 10 minutes.

And then he'd get sued for posting the negative feedback for defamation of character lol.

I'm going to report the auction on the basis that he is providing false information to potential bidders with the date's he is giving and the fact that he says it will have navigation. Also, the dealers marking up the MSRP by those amounts is purely speculation and he has no proof of any of those claims.

Oh hey Scotty I just noticed what you added to your sig... cool; I was going to find the other thread and ask if that was still your intent.

Back on topic,

I'm actually shocked e-bay's let it go on for this long... I'm sure it's attracting attention and somebody has to have notified them.

On the other hand; maybe since the person has stated that they aren't selling the CAR; merely the contract that states the right to PURCHASE the car, under e-bay's rules, maybe they DO have the item in hand?
