you think if you blow out one of those junky ass transmissions in the Boss on a trackday and Ford catches wind of it they are going to fix it?

ask Raptor F150 guys how quick Ford is to fix their chassis flex after some trail riding

Did this happen at Sacramento last year? A guy I was racing last year lost it in his Z06 and missed my back bumper by inches.

A while back ONSTAR called John Hennessey to make sure everyone was OK after a hard launch at the dragstrip in his Cadillac!

I have seen a side airbag deployment from a track day at Texas World Speedway come through my service dept.

I work for a Chevy dealer and have worked for Chevy dealers for over 6 years now. I personally have no way of contacting the higher ups at GM and they probably don't even know how many 100s of cars I have sold for them years prior (now in the service dept.) BUT
I do think an update needs to be done similar to the 2013 Malibu for re-programing the sensitivity of the side airbag system in the Camaros. I will not track my personal Camaro until that is done. Scary thing about disabling the system completely is if you hit a wall while tracking your car they won't deploy at all.

needs to be a way to make them work like they do normal and with a flip of a switch (comp mod or tc off) makes it work off of contact switchs. where the r 2 pieces of metal and when something hits another from say the bumper pushing back it deploys the bags. but i argee with p s john.

How did it happen and is your can modified? If not it was not an accident it should be a warranty issue. If it is an accident you have insurance. My understanding is folks with modified suspension are the ones worried since it could be argued that the modifications led to the airbags triggering.

The parts cost me $1,500. Dealer quote was over $4,000 for them to do it.

Good luck trying to ever get this covered by a warranty if your car is modified. I can tell you from personal experience unless you have deep pockets, a good lawyer and a lot of time you're better off sucking it up and pay it yourself.

Suspension upgrades on the 1le won't change the forces as much as sticky street tires or r-comps. Wondering if any 1le guys poped the bags yes as we have several memeber on here tracking theirs. I am planning on autoxing my 1le frequently in 2014....this is the last thing I need to happen especially since I am autoxing it stock with tire change only.

Would this have been covered under track insurance?

That would depend on the policy. Have you ever priced it? coverage for total loss for one track day is half of my yearly insurance.

It would be a safe bet that the sensitivity levels are set differently on ZL-1s and 1LE's
That's is called insurance fraud! My brother is an insurance investigator and he catches people in lies like that all the time. They actually have a department that will do internet searches and try and discredit or decline a claim.
