Just curious since the Z28 is still rumor and no exact details as to why you would give up and awesome car to wait so long.
Anytime you buy add ons you never get that money back in resale and for an aftermarket Camaro from Hennessey or ZL575, etc... You pay anywhere from $59k-$70k depending on options and the priginal car ordered. You are lucky to get half that 2-3 years down the road my brother learned that the hard way with his Mustangs: Roush and Saleen. Finally he opted for a GT500 with the same performance at a much cheaper price and better resale. If there is a Z28, since most of you on here doubt that it will exist at some point, it will be no more than $53k loaded I beleive and even that may be too much. A base Vette is in the low $50k and it cannot be near that price because they cannot compete with one another. GM has already said that if a Z28 were to exist it would not be at the Vette price. And an aftemarket Camaro is more than a Vette.

dumb.............

shoulda keep the SS, sent it to Livermois or LM Speed or Hennessey for a 650 kit (which will kill a Z28) and enjoy it.

or just admit ya can't afford to keep it and not lie about it.

I think there will be a 2012 Z28. The CTS-V coupe getting the green light may possibly be the best indication that a Z28 is on the way. Most of the parts will be right from the GM parts bin. Not to mention some people very high up the corporate latter (Ed Welburn) have spilled the beans. I wouldn't expect an official announcement till the end of the summer once the G'ment is paid back. I think the car is much more than a rumor. I wouldn't sell my SS yet, but I would bet money on the 2012 Z28.

But the new Z/28 is actually going to be the Holy Grail Of all Factory Camaros. Bottom line. This slap on a blower on your SS and you have yourself a Z/28 and be faster is getting old quick and boring. It will be nice to have something different and you won't see many on the streets.

Now in NY the winter market will not be as good as Summer and Spring so it's understandable. But I just got back from Florida and North Carolina and their dealers seem to have the same problem. I do not know what th answer is but the fact is supply and demand affects prices so yes maybe they have caught up to demand but a used Camaro when no dealer had them was worth more at auctions or on trades than they are now. Now give the car another model year and a potential Z28 on the market it will affect the car if the Z28 is priced where it should be. I'm not trying to make a problem here but as usual I catch crap from anyone on here. I could care less. I am not the only one in this boat!

Okay here we go:

5 Camaros on a lot is not a huge problem, it's not like the 40 camry's sitting on a nearby toyota lot.... The car is selling. Of course the market will slow down in the winter if you live in a northern state. (I can't speak for the market in Southern states as i don't have experience in their sales patterns)

To your original post, It's your car if you want to sell it, sell it. I would have kept it for at least this year though, maybe next year too. And I have no idea why your pop would give back a new grand sport to go to the Camaro.

amen. a Z28 isn't just a blower. it's heritage and hopefully they will focus on the suspension just as much as the engine. original Z28. . .

Its more about the timing ... why sell what you have now for something you won't have for a year and a half?

I respect your opinion. And to answer the question about my father is he got rid of the Corvette because unlike me he drives his toy more than I do. I drive my toys once in a blue moon and on the track at Monticello. He drives his druring the winter, etc... The truth is the Corvette suspension is primitive unless you are on a track. Leaf springs are the Vette's weakest link not it's interior. But that is a completely different debate which I'm sure I will be flamed for. But i have owned many Vettes and that's my opinion. The Camaro is more comfortable and a much better overall car for your money.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but please don't guess what my financial situation is and I won't assume yours. Even if I couldn't afford it what did you gain by putting me down please have some respect and enjoy your SS I'll enjoy my Z28 when it comes out.
