Question for 2013 zl1 owners.

I have a 1le and I plan on putting a zl1 front bumber on the car. Does anyone know if the zl1 front bumber hood lines the same width as a stock ss hood?

I own a 2013...

Absolutely no idea...

How does owning a 2013 make us able to tell that?

My guess would be no, as the ZL1 does seem to "ramp" a lot more in the front end up to the bigger scoop, but I can't give you a guaranteed answer. I guess try and find out...

Could you measure the distance between the speed lines on the front bumper that match the hood?

The Hood Lines dont fit, and never did. Lines are narrower on a ZL1 bumper. You have to make em wider yourself.

Maybe there are non-OEM ones available somewhere, that fit directly.

That's what we keep hearing, yes they fit and no they don't! LOL

Can'tHave2MuchHP, thanks FOR the mild research, we went thru that thread before posting here...

We will have to find a ZL1 and measure for ourselves, that way we know for sure if the points on the bumper match the hood we have.

Thanks for the help.

Speed lines, body lines, the little ridges on top of the bumper.

I can try and get some pics of different lines. Please specify which ones you want.

We went to a local cars and coffee this morning and there was a ZL1 there. It looks like the lines are in the right area but the shape may be a little off. It will probably be fine with the carbon aftermarket hood we have which is for a 13.

The ZL1 front bumper will not line up with a 14-15 SS front end, there is probably two inches of difference in width.

Thanks for the help, and the offer to take pictures.

The Zl1 nose only lines up with a Zl1 Hood.
10-13 SS and V6 hoods are narrower then a ZL1
14-15 SS cars are wider the Zl1 nose
14-15 V6 car had the same hood as 10-13 cars, so those are narrower then the ZL1

Here is a couple of pictures of my 2011 SS with a ZL1 nose and Z-Force hood before paint and after paint. I had a custom shop do my cowl lines fix.

Csmith4153, that's exactly what we needed to see! Did the body shop trim the bumper or the hood or both?

I knew they were close but wasn't 100% sure.

Thanks!
