This is a pretty big laundry list for a potential new 1LE to cover.
Thanks for the input. I haven't driven a GT350, nor do I have a desire to...but I am curious what the Camaro team will have to do to surpass it.

What tires does the "base" GT350 ride on? Michelin Pilot Super Sports, or the Sport Cup tires?

it had super sports...which are my most hated track tire on the 1le....I only got 7 laps in the car, so I was not able to hate them yet. On the 1le I hated them after 1 lap.

Thought so. My post was in comparison to a base GT350. Honestly we will probably never see a comparison between the two anyway since no media will review a no package (or be able to find) GT350. Based on your responses the GT350TP is a much easier car to track, which definitely seems to be the case based on what we know.

*Edit: We will see what Randy can do with the SS in next months H2H! Then we will have a better idea of what the 1LE will need to do.

Since I track a lot and have a great relationship with the owner of a large franchise group....I am given the cars on BCA's....I trailer them to Laguna which is 20 minutes from where I live now. This is a sweet arrangement I have and I never take advantage of it (i.e. I get 20-30 miles on the cars and they have to be back the following morning, and I am not a second late or a 1/10 mile over). The gt350 was a "sold" car and I borrowed it as it was being "checked in". Unlike the magazines/writers, I have no one watching me or setting up track parameters. I was at Laguna when ford was letting a magazine test the gt350.....They had every apex marker, early turn in point, deep braking zone etc coned off, so that they could "control" the test....no rumble strips allowed.

You know....I used to be all over these, but I know EVERY INCH of Laguna and have yet to see a "hot lap" video that does not seem(to me) to advance the track locations when they switch cameras.......not accusing them of anything, but I want to see a video of the whole lap from 1 camera or a even better a transponder print out...

I love when people keep comparing a Camaro with every option ticked to a Mustang with nothing or only one of its very expensive options.

You don't even know what you want. You're talking about a GT350, a NA v8 Camaro, and then you say GM better step it up with the LT4 and weight of the car to get your money.

I think what you need to do is let Ford know they should work on their suspension tuning and cutting weight as instead.
You do not even know what the 17 1LE will be capable of..what it entails, how much it will cost...etc....etc...etc. You have NO CLUE what the FINISHED product will consist of...then you act all holy because of an opinion?

It's MY opinion based on what IS KNOWN as of RIGHT NOW....Not speculation...

It was a freaking comparison of a TRACK SPECIFIC car...NOT, I repeat NOT how freaking fully loaded the damn thing is...I want a TRACK car...not a bunch of crap inclusive then a 1LE.

In my OPINION...for what the 1LE is NOT known of ...versus what the GT 350 IS NOW....was a comparison of BOTH cars and the deficiency of 70 to 75 horsepower...

Wasn't meant to get your cherry panties in a bunch...It was a mere statement that the 1LE better step up its game to compete...But I guess for you, I will add what is between the lines cause I guess you couldn't read it.
