$30,000 would be competitive. Do I hope for a little more? Sure. But expecting $30,000 isn't unbelievable at all. |

I always point at my siggy for these threads..... always will...
PS. I made up a mustang that i would be happy to own.. it was a tad under 30k (WITH OPTIONS).

By the way something people never consider... base pricing... options will always raise the price.. but you need to look at a BASE GT = 1SS and a premium GT = 2SS
Just my own opinion though... The closer to 30k+ the BASE price of a 2SS gets the more and more i will be pushed into a new corvette (with a years delay).

Sounds about right to me .. with what you are getting base with the camaro it would be stupid to price it at mustang prices ..

Stupid huh? Yes you are getting a much better value with the Camaro if it is priced similar to Mustang, but as I have been saying, if they want to compete they HAVE to price it within $1k - $2k of the price or they won't get ANYWHERE near their sales targets. The average consumer is ignorant and doesn't do all of the research and know all of the things that we know about the cars. They just see 2 different sports cars and pick the cheaper one to the most part. If they are similarly priced then they will look closer and see that the Camaro is better and will buy it instead.

I'd be jumping all over the place if I could get my Camaro for $26k. Minus my GMS discount...

Yes and no... I would compare something like this to having a child... very excited for all the changes to come.. yet fearful of what those changes are bringing.

I am expecting around $38,000 for the 2ss/rs...but that is a guess. I would be fine paying that. It's lots cooler than anything mustang has right now.

IDL said pricing was still being held until after 1/1/09.
I see no indication this has changed. |
