Ok here we go guys. This is the perfect comparison for you guys.

This is comparing the exact same camshaft with VVT & without VVT (camshaft left at +3)
This easily shows how the VVT allows us to advance additional down low & then pull the advance out in upper rpm making a much better powerband.

Seems like one of the aftermarket guys would design some AFM lifters that could take the higher lift, higher compression ratio, stiffer springs, etc.
I think the major problem (excluding PVC) is that oil pressure is what is used to move (phase) the cam and when you get too aggressive with the spring pressure, ramp rate, lift etc. at some point there is just not enough oil pressure too control the cam.

X2, this is exactly what I was looking for, hope she has a mean idle sound.
Great job guys
I am watching this one closely

Reason the aftermarket hasnt made anything yet is becasue GM still has the patent(sp) on those lifters. So will be some time before the aftermarket gets around to those.

I am hoping the small cam has a stock sleeper idle and stock like driveability so I hope they make different ones for all our needs. I for one will be deleting AFM and puting the ported heads on at the same time. Have you guys figured out how much the heads can be milled with each cam. I think this would be very important for those of us who are opting for the VVT non AFM cam because the majority of those who get that cam will be doing heads too and it would be nice to get the same compression as the LS3.

What gains do you think you will see without replacing heads? I had a dyno pull the other day 346HP to the wheels. Kooks headers/CATS, MACH XL catback, and a CAI.
Thanks

Whats the specs on that cam? Duration numbers are fine of you want to keep it under wraps
