GM footwell lighting

Does anyone know if the GM part #20971891 footwell and cup holder lighting kit will work on 2011 . I have the 2012-2013 acessories book. Any info on the install would be helpful.

It works perfectly well. All connects together with clean harnesses that are concealed under the console and cupholder. Took about 2 hours start to finish. Most will argue against the price though as its expensive for what they give you. Footwell lights are not super bright, but you can easily see what you're looking for if you're fishing for something at your feet. My only gripe is that if the car is off and you open the door, the lights turn off. I'm thinking about adding a second set to come on with the dome light. And that more or less defeats the purpose if you have to do it a second time. But, I do like being able to switch between ice blue and red. I wanted a blue which perfectly matched the DIC and radio which this kit does. Second closest is AAC's aqua blue which is very close but not exact.

The GM footwells are ridiculously expensive, and you can get ones that are just as good for so much cheaper. I got mine from gen5diy.com, they where like $50 bucks for 4 LED strips (I did both the back seats and the front seats) and they looks awesome! The cup holder lights, are the same thing, I bought small LEDS from oznium.com for like $10 and they work great too. The install for footwells is super easy, it took me about 2 hours to install all four, and that included me sewing the rear LEDS onto the backseat cushion. I know this doesn't really answer your question about the GM ones, but if I was you I would save your money and go aftermarket, you won't regret it.

I sewed them into the bottom of the back seat, so like the small section of seat that hangs over, that's where I sewed them in. Here is the DIY I followed:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110986

It's really easy, the hardest part is feeding the wires through and underneath the center console. In the DIY lupe takes out the back seat, but I didn't do that, I just lifted up the backseat about 8 inches and did it that way.

+1, I bought AACs footwell and dome light kit in aqua blue and it looks amazing! And the install is really quite easy. The blue matches up pretty well with the ABLs and dash lights. Now I just have to do my back seats.
