HELP: Noise at rear wheel.

I have a clicking sound coming from the left rear wheel. Did anyone have this problem and what was it?

I have a clicking sound that comes from the rear (not sure which side). It happens sometimes when I hit a bump, pull in my driveway and even sometimes when I'm on smooth pavement and the car's weight shifts. I can't figure it out for the life of me...

If the clicking comes when the load of the car shifts forwards and backwards (pull forward, then backward, then forward, then backward NOT using the brakes - in manuals) and if you get the clink, clink as you go back and forward, you can bet your bottom dollar it's the axle nuts and washers. See the TSB.

E.T., yours sounds more like a sway bar issue....possibly an end link issue. Check the rear sway bar first. Make sure all 4 bolts holding it to the frame are nice and tight. I had a couple bolts strip on me causing the bar to come loose...and it would clank loudly as I hit bumps or would go over uneven surfaces.

But a very large majority of the problems stemmed from people having the above linked issue. Talk about a PAIN...IN...THE...ASS... It was driving me NUTS.

Thanks, but I checked the sway bar. I even replaced it with a pfadt one, and I'm still getting the exact same sound.

I read a thread where the bolts at the top of the shocks were hitting the bottom of the trunk and making noise, but supposedly this was fixed on the 2012, which I have.
