Cool Radar Detectors

I have been researching radar detectors and there are just so many options and good and bad from all of them the one i like the most is the escort passport 9500ix... just want to find the best one for the price... AND yes i know a radar detector is not going to save you all the time but will a good reminder and aide.. what everyones thoughts... thanks.

I did tons of research. And yes certain situations you're toast if a cop knows how to set a speed trap. But in the end I went with the Valentine One. Why? Directional arrows. I always know where the cop is coming from. If Valentine One would incorporate GPS like 9500ix it would be the greatest thing since Moms. I also mounted mine with the blend mount and used the invisicord to tap the power from My rear view mirror. Love it!

Great Choice... you will love the GPS on it... doesn't go off unless it's for real...

Here's your deal..

They even have a nice mount for the passenger side visor...

...and here's a good install thread..

I had the 9500ix but sold it because I wanted the V1 since it has the directional arrows.

There are tons of threads on these two detectors... They both are tops...

It all boils down to do you want GPS to store false alarms and voice alerts for red light cameras or do you want Arrows to point out where the radar is coming from.

Yes they are detectable if they are illegal in your state and they look for that.

I am getting a 'last year model' whistler that the radar sensor goes in the grill or behind the bumper and there is a very small laser sensor for the windshield. It is about as 'stealth' as you can get for under $200 and gets decent reviews.

I have been researching this too. I found that passport will probably be better for because I will be doing mostly city driving so the GPS will be helpful.

Coming from a cop, just make sure you get a radar detector and not laser/lidar... if you got hit with laser, it is too late. From what I hear and research (yes.. I have even looked into it myself for my POV) valentine seems to be tops.
