Supercharger vs. Blower

I was reading the new Motor Tread and Car & Driver, they have the review of the new CTS-V, it has a supercharger on it, now I am going to show how much of a newbie I am , but are a SUPERCHARGER & a BLOWER the same thing???

supercharger and blower are the same thing. you know the difference from a supercharger and a turbo right?

Yes, I think, turbo reuses the exhaust for power and the supercharger/blower forces more air into the chamber.

not quite, supercharger systems use a belt to spin what is essentially a air compresser to force more air into the cylinder, a turbo charger uses exhaust gas to spin one side of a turbine on its way out of the car, the other side of the turbine spins and compresses clean air forcing it into the cylinders

A turbo charger uses the exaust gases to turn an impeller which forces more air into the engine.

A supercharger uses a belt to turn an impeller (of sorts) which forces more air into the engine.

The both force more air in. But a turbo doesn't "reuse" anything.

you guys know just about everything...if not everything. If we were to decide to get our camaro "blown" which blower your you recomend? and how much increased power will it add to the SS?

Eaton Twin Screw. 40-60% more power easily.

for more specifics Eaton tvs series (1900 or 2300) both are great and would add the 40-60% Bowtieguy said, you can get these from Magnacharger (owned by eaton) as a do it yourself kit or have them installed.
