More than $125 an hour shop labor rate? Seems high to me. Ryan

I usually pay 110.00 per hour, for labor at my shop. Plus not like you bought them there. If you had purchased thru them maybe the labor be cheaper, considering that they would've made so money on the headers. Just my .02. Plus you live in New York, everything in NY cost more...

Install them yourself and save $550. I had never installed any myself before I installed mine and while it was challenging at times, it was not impossible for a rookie. Just make sure you torque the bolts to the proper specs otherwise you'll catch all kinds of hell on here. Apparently auto parts stores rent torque wrenches for little to no money. The driver's side isn't too bad and can be done by yourself, but the passenger side is nearly impossible to install solo. The whole process goes a lot easier if you have an extra set of hands.

You don't need to torque anything: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=402218

Bring it to PA and I'll only charge you $100. I've installed 3 sets already. I have lift, air tools and torq wrenches.

Ralph is a great guy.
It is not that hard should only take a couple hours. I did mine on the ground with a floor jack and jack stands. It took just over 2 hours including adding CAI at the same time.

+1 on doing it yourself and save the money. Like sscamaro i used air tools. It made a huge difference.
Love the lift! Where did you get it? I need to invest in that! |
