If they only up the GT price by $500, Ford is gonna sell alot of them.

Won't that keep it cheaper than both the Challenger R/T and the Camaro SS?

im not sure it will only be a $500 increase for the GT as well, prob closer to 900 or 1000

That is definatly a possibiility, hopefully we'll that infor next week since the detroit autoshow starts then.

To answer a previous question here, Even with $100 increase it will undercut the R/T by around 1000 and the SS by around 2000.

A base Challenger R/T's MSRP is 31,585.

I know..because that is what I paid. So it'll undercut the base R/T by between 1000-1500 or so.

Projected has changed to confirmed, the SAE released an article on the 5.0L and they say the Coyote makes 'a rated 412hp'. Considering the source, that's as gospel as it gets. Only exception at this point would be if Ford decides to make a last minute change which seems extremely unlikely, but anything can happen. As it stands, that can now be considered an SAE rating.

When the camaro was in pre-production it had a projected HP of 422 and we all see how that turned out.

Every press article and I mean all of them have been at this number. SO when asking about it he comes in and says this....BTW everything comment he makes on the car is always tilted towards the car being a under performer or this or that.

The SAE put out the article as stew said. That pretty much sums it up. And as you said the Camaro came out with MORE power than projected..so How am I stirring things up ? The GT500 is underrated, the Cobra was underrated...I doubt if this car will be but I am not far fetch in saying what I said. Plus the thread was on price.....Which I also commented on....

Somehow I do not see how I am the one string anything up.

I predict the Mustang to be a huge performance bargain. Things are heating up in Detroit and the Mustang is going to be hot. AS much as i liked the v6 Camaro I like the v6 Stang even more. Weight will forever haunt the Camaro in its current form. Gm blew it here imo.

I love the exterior but I think the interior is hideous. That is subjective of course and your results may vary.
